R-U-D-I Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 5. Travis Johnson, defensive tackle, Florida State Comments: Excellent workout at Florida State Pro Day lends a great deal of credibility to the first-round status he gained after only one year as a starter for the Seminoles ... Personnel evaluators were blown away by his 4.90 clocking in the 40-yard dash, an extremely fast time for a defensive tackle ... Outstanding pass-rush skills and pursuit ability. Interesting since so many mocks have him going to the Bengals... Quote
TJJackson Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 Nope, not a Marvin guy.....sorry 'bout your luck. Good last name, though. Quote
Section 310 Posted April 8, 2005 Report Posted April 8, 2005 Everyone and their brother has us taking Johnson at #17.I don't buy it. Marvin is all about team and attitude. Hewants to cultivate a positive working environment withguys that want to help the team win. No selfish, underachieversare welcome.I personally believe that he is going to roll with the D linemenalready on the roster. If we do drop down and go lineman, Ithink Antajj (sp?) is Marvin's kind of guy. The coaches andplayers loved him and he was always trying to better himself.Travis Johnson on the other hand, was a one season wonder.http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/players/draft/412473 Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted April 8, 2005 Report Posted April 8, 2005 I personally believe that he is going to roll with the D linemenalready on the roster. I'm sitting with Section 310 on this point. I just feel that after Marvin went out a signed Robinson from Miami, as well as the re-signing of Powell, he finished with all the moves he felt he needed to do, D-line wise. But then again, with that BPA "wildcard" crap he does upon occasion, who the hell really knows? You may be right that the Bengals won't waste an early pick on a DT -- which I agree with.I do think that ML may take a chance with a "BIG" DT later in the draft -- someone like Fields or Bryant. I think Bryant might be a good 4th round pick. Quote
HairOnFire Posted April 9, 2005 Report Posted April 9, 2005 In a world where everyone is either rising or falling, sometimes both, I find it interesting how often you can find Luis Castillo as the highest rated DT. Quote
