HoTbOy
I became a Bengals fan in 75, I was 11 years old...Thet were the 1st team that I ever saw play, they were playing the Browns that day. People ask me how could you like the Bengals, I tell them I don't believe in hopping on the best thing smoking at that time. I went through the bad for a loooooooong time. NOW it is time to enjoy the GOOD again...
bengalboomer7
I grew up in the area and was born and raised to be a bengal fan, and a sports fan in general
BengalszoneBilly
Grew up 20 minutes south of Cincinnati, always been a Reds fan. But before '68, there was no Cincinnati Bengals!! They always televised Cleveland Browns games in the Greater Cincinnati area so I was a (oh God, this is sooo embarrassing!) Browns fan. Thank God the time spent that way was brief, otherwise I would have been fully lobotomized! As soon as the Bengals were born, I was hooked on our "homies", they ran off the Browns games from the Sunday TV, and Cincinnati had their own identity in the NFL. ArmyBengal
Born and raised a Bengal fan. Dad even got me the kids Bengal uniform from Sears, helmet and all. I wore that thing everywhere !!! Anyway, Dad got season tickets and him and I went every Sunday all through high school until I joined the Army. Went to the Freezer Bowl (-59 Wind Chill) and Super Bowl XVI in Detroit. Sure would be nice to make another trip back to Detroit this year !!!WHODEY !!!

Chucktkd
I had been a lifelong Dolfan but when Wanny took over and ushered Danny out the door I had no favorite. I live in Baltimore and hate the Rats so when Marv took over I started rooting for the Bengals. They really did a number on December 5th!!! CTBengalsFan
never really had a team when i was a kid because i never liked the Giants or the Patriots, and i always used to play as the Bengals when I was a kid in whatever football video game because I thought they had the coolest logo/uniforms.then when i started to watch football i started watching Bengals games when I could, and then they became my team. :player:
StripesNTn
Hmm seems like a good spot for my first post. Dad was born and raised in Cincy, a diehard Reds and Bengals fan by the time i was born in Portsmouth. Soon after we moved to Tn and i was raised here. Grew up a Bengals fan and have been one all my life.

BengalszoneBilly
where's 20 minutes south Billy? Just a 20 minute drive south on I-75. Little town (probably not so little anymore) of Erlanger Kentucky. Graduated from Lloyd. Attended N.K.U. for a year. My brother still lives in Hebron, works at the Greater Cincinnati Airport, so I get back to visit every few years. I kind of miss it! Not the humidity of summer though. Ugh. Arizona has spoiled me! membengal
Heh, that's three of us Bengals fans in TN on this board now. Surely that must be a sign of something.Hey Skyline, lived in Nashville from 1996 to 1998 before moving to Memphis. Lowest moment I have had as a Bengals fan (which goes back to 1976, so that's saying something), may have been being there at the 1998 Bengals/Titans game that was played at Vanderbilt. I think the Bengals were down something like 31-0 at halftime. The whole day was so painful I have tried to erase it from my mind. By the way, welcome to the board Stripes. I was at the first regular season game at Adelphia. It was against the Bengals. The Titans won it with a last second field goal. That was a killer for me... not-another
I was born and raised in Cincy. Right on Warsaw street. Instead of stealing hubcaps on sunday mornings, i watched the bengals. but the ironic thing of the story is momma was a chiefs fan and pappa was a browns fan. jjakq27
My earliest memories are from the 1973 season. Guys like Essex Johnson, Isaac Curtis and Ken Anderson are the ones that come to mind. I was a little guy when the Bengals played the Dolphins in the playoffs and was crushed when they lost.I've been a die-hard fan since then. StripesNTn
and here i thought hard core Bengals fans were few and far between in Tn. I do believe the Bengals have another away game at the Titans this year, will be good to get there and see the Titans beat.

BengalNation1281
I've told this story before, but it is one that i enjoy, so here it goes again:Living in Kansas, which is a largely Chiefs/Cowboys fan dominated state (at least in the south central part where I lived), I was watching highlights during a Chiefs game in 1994 and saw Jeff Blake throw a gorgeous bomb for a TD against the Cowboys, who almost got beaten by our boys in orange and black. Having always been a fan of good passing attacks, and not really getting into football until around 1993 and 94, I was intrigued by what I had seen in the Cincy-Dallas game and paid attention to the Bengals the next week...they beat Seattle 23-20 in OT and Blake had 387 yards passing. I didn't get to see the game or the highlights, but I was happy that they had won.A week later, my dad took me to the small sports bar in Derby (suburb of Wichita, lived there for a few years) so that I could catch NFL Primetime (I didn't have cable at the time...much like my present-day situation). I was there specifically for the Bengals-Oilers highlights, and when they came on I was absolutely blown away...most every highlight that they were showing for the Bengals involved a deep ball to Pickens or Scott, who were grabbing jump balls that no one had any business grabbing (I still maintain that Jeff Blake has the prettiest deep ball I've ever seen). The Bengals won 34-31, Blake had 354 yards passing, and I turned to my dad and said "I have a new favorite team."Since that day I have bled orange and black. My dad ordered a Blake jersey for me as a Christmas present, and I wore it like a badge of honor. They were awful, but they were my team, and I didn't know anybody who loved them like I did. Eleven years later, I can't say that I don't know anyone who loves them like I do or that I don't know anyone who has loved them longer than I have, but knowing those who share that love for this team has only made me a bigger fan. I started rooting for them when they were bad, I stayed with them while they were bad, and now I will reap the benefits that come with rooting for a contender and knowing that I was there when most everyone that I knew was jumping on the newest bandwagon that came along.Sorry if this is all melodramatic, but I can't help it...I love this freakin' team.WHODEY!!! :player: :player: :player:
