Whur CHad At?
from espn.comHe had 102 tackles in 2004, the first season in which Jones started all 16 games, but posted only two interceptions in two seasons with the Saints. If a deal is not completed for Jones over the weekend, the Saints will consider releasing him next week.Do you think we should make a run for him when he gets released??? HoTbOy
If he wasn't too expensive, now that robinson is signed why not get SS Davis from Georgia?

bnglsfan26
Tebucky Jones is a B-List FA that if the Bengals signed, could help lure better FAs perhaps next year, especially if they can crack the +.500 mark this year and compete for the playoffs in late December.I'd love to see them draft a Thomas Davis, but he more than likely doesn't make it this far. Everyone and their mother has the Bengals drafting DT Travis Johnson, but just like the Bucs and supposed pick RB Carnell Williams, I don't think either are likely. The Bengals should take a hard look at trading down and getting perhaps an extra 2nd round pick. This team needs to keep building through youth and the draft, and the more young blood they get instilled in their team from birth the better.Notice a team like the Bucs did this for about 5 years, and turned into a perennial playoff contender through the mid-90s until 2002. They need to keep drafting future core defensive players and have Marvin Lewis continue to work with and develop them. Madeiu Williams has all the skills to be one of the elite DBs in this game, and showed flashes of greatness last season.Look for the Bengals to probably add their 4th piece to that secondary (Ratliff, Williams, O'Neal) in the first or second round this year, and also draft some run support, either via a big runstopping ILB like Florida's Channing Crowder or Nebraska's Barret Ruud. HoosierCat
Welcome aboard, MLBrandow. Great first post.I think Terbucky would be a solid pickup; he strikes me as a better version of Beckett, who was a good player for us in 2003 before the concussions fouled him up.He did sign a monster deal with NO, tho, which is why I think he get released instead of traded...but even tho he's looking at a pay cut anywhere he goes, it's tough to see the Bengals outbidding the field....more likely you're right and we look for LB/SS run support in the draft. Whur CHad At?
If he wasn't too expensive, now that robinson is signed why not get SS Davis from Georgia? He won't be that expensive when he gets released. Thats why the Bengal's won't make a trade for Sharper because he is expensive. They can get these guys much cheaper in FA. The Bengals will wait to add their Safety in the second round, 3rd round. Crowder is the likely pick there at #17. He will play outside replacing Hardy.

CJBestInAFC
Crowder is slow. He ran his 40s in the 4.7 range. I think Marvin will look for speed in the mlb. Look at Ray Lewis. He is fast.
Whur CHad At?
Dude Crowder ran his in 4.6 . He is considered one of the fasted LB's in college FB.So get factual stats before you post please
JPW
Dude Crowder ran his in 4.6 . He is considered one of the fasted LB's in college FB.So get factual stats before you post please"Spielman said Fason was clocked in the 4.6-second range in the 40-yard dash, while Crowder was timed in the 4.7s. Both players also looked quick and agile in individual drills."They both worked out well," Spielman said. "I wouldn't say they had great workouts, but they worked out good."LINK to Crowder's Pro-Day"Crowder also has injury issues. He has had several knee operations and missed three games last season with a sprained arch in his right foot.He showed no problems Wednesday, measuring 10 feet in the broad jump and covering the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds."A SECOND LINK to Crowder's Pro-Day
TJJackson
As I said, it is unlikely the Bengals will take Crowder...unless he fell to say, oh, I don't know....round 5. Which is also unlikely.
Whur CHad At?
WHo do you want them to take TJ, flatter me. It will prob be the most perfect player in the draft who will end up being the bigggest bust ever.

JPW
oh no he ran a bad 40 time, better not pay attention to him I have no idea what you are responding to from my post ?Show me where I ever said that we should pay no attention to Crowder.A bad work-out does not mean the guy can't play.On the other hand, running a 4.7 does not tend to support the notion that the guy is the next Ray Lewis either. If you have read my post, you know that I have said that, I didn't think that taking Crowder would be a bad pick.I am just not at all sure that he would be the best pick. What I was responding to with my post is this:So get factual stats before you post pleaseThe links to Crowder's pro-day had already been posted once ...Maybe it would be a good idea to bother to read the facts ...Especially if you are going to have the boldness to ...Tell others to "get factual stats before you post" ...The difference between a 4.7 and a 4.6 is next to meaningless. My Point was and is ...If you are going to have the gall to tell others not to post without having their facts straight, the least that you can do is have your own facts straight.
