I wonder how long it will be until Dennis Green and the Arizona Cardinals make their move on James! I almost expect it within weeks!
BengalNation1281
C'mon now, he only had 9 rushing TDs.What a chump.
Whur CHad At?
I think E. James would retire if he had to play in Arizona. I wouldn't be suprised to see Seattle get in on this. Trade E.James for SA striaght up.
schweinhart
The Fins could trade Surtain for James and proly sign James long-term for about a $500k less cap hit than what they got w/ Surtain right now. It's a good draft for the Colts to pick up an impact RB in Day 1 and maybe even early Day 2. BengalszoneBilly
I think E. James would retire if he had to play in Arizona. I would have thought the same thing too before Coach Green took over the job, but now I wouldn't rule the possibility of it out at all. Arizona signed Kurt Warner at QB last week, (okay, I know that one was no toughie!) and they just recently inked DE Chike Okeafor out of Seattle where he had led the Seahawks in sacks last season! It was also rumored that the Seahawks practically matched the Cardinals offer. In spite of that closeness of the two deals on the table, he thought Arizona, and the direction Dennis Green was going with the team, best suited him!Dennis is a proven winner, a very popular head coach with his team, and most of all a very persuasive negotiatior. With all the health questions surrounding RB Marcel Shipp, who's still listed on the IR, getting a RB to fill the void left by Emmitt Smith before the season starts is the top priority for the Cardinals. IMO Emmitt retired a year too early. He could still run the ball, and was great in those 3rd and short situations!Their owner Bill Bidwell has finally come around, and now lets the people who know football make the calls and take care of things while he stays out of the way and signs the checks. (Does this sound like anyone we know in Cincy? ) Isn't it strange how teams usually start doing better once a moment of clarity and team owner meet for the first time!?! UKstripes
Again, forgive me if it's a dumb question with regard to cap issues, but would anyone say no to trading Rudi, Kevin Hardy and our 2nd rounder to the Colts for Edge? Don't Rudi and Hardy add up to somewhere between $8.5 - $9 million against the cap? Anyone know what Edge's cap figure is? Ooooh just had a thought.. if we got Edgerton Hartwell too.. we'd have a double-edged sword!! Or is that just a british saying? I don't know.. HoosierCat
Again, forgive me if it's a dumb question with regard to cap issues, but would anyone say no to trading Rudi, Kevin Hardy and our 2nd rounder to the Colts for Edge? Because it really wouldn't solve either teams' problem. Both Indy and Cincy are spending-heavy on the offensive side of the ball (Indy worse than Cincy). Both teams have big money invested in a franchise QB and his cadre of wideouts. And both teams need to find some way to put some dollars against the D.At this point, I would say that if (repeat: if) any of the "big 3" (Rudi, James or Alexander) are going to be traded, it will happen on draft day. There are a number of teams who need an RB, and it's fairly likely that one of them will fall in love with a guy who gets picked before their number comes up. So I could see someone ponying up, say, a 2nd rounder for James.
HoosierCat
And it's a race to the bottom! Now the 'Hawks say they don't need a first-rounder for Alexander either!http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/stor...john&id=2009885Heck, I've got about $6 and a 12-pack of Bud Light in the fridge...will that get me an RB? You just want to swap out that piss water Bud Light for at least some regular Budwieser, and then you can get ready for your very own 1500 yards per season RB to come bustin' through your front door! Bud Light...sheesh! What are you trying to do!?! Scare him off!?! ***I'm hunkering down now, awaiting the onslaught of Bud light lovers to defend their "Beer." ***
