BengalszoneBilly
Most every football fan anywhere could obviously see that Josh McCown wasn't going to lead the Arizona Cardinals out of mediocrity. IMHO, with an already decent defense in place, and a recieving corps that ain't too shabby at all, the two time league MVP is going to take this team to the top of their (albeit weak) division, if not the playoffs! BengalszoneBilly
I think they should trade us a 2nd rounder for Rudi to lock up that offense for Warner.. They are real light in the offensive backfield now that Emmitt Smith retired, but ya' never know. I'm sure they make a move somewhere to shore it up. I'm guessing through free agency. Dennis Green just loves a good free agent deal!BTW CTBengalsFan your sig line, "2005 Big East Regular Season Champions, will be NCAA Champions too, you all watch" makes me just have to look forward to a Husky/Wildcats Final Four game! Kentucky will take it to 'em! GO BIG BLUE!!
BengalNation1281
Kurt Warner is a joke. I respect what he did with the Rams, but he needs to give it up...does he see the situation ever changing now that he has made it abundantly clear that he is delusional and refuses to adapt to change? When he couldn't hack it with the Rams and Bulger stepped in and started winning, he whined until they let him go. When he couldn't win games anymore in NY and they started Manning, he whined until they let him go. I personally think that McCown will be a pretty good QB with time, and if he has to step in in 2005 and ends up having a good season and carries over what he did at the end of 2004, is there any reason to believe that Warner won't pack up his stuff and demand to be let go again?Warner and Bledsoe are two guys that I have zero respect for for the same reasons: When things don't go their way, they bitch and moan until they get what they want, and they have diminishing skills that shouldn't allow them to be able to dictate what their teams do or when they should or shouldn't be starting. I think that Arizona will be a much better team this year, but it will happen with McCown at QB, not Warner, and then his butch wife will call every Phoenix radio station and demand that he be let go so he can go to another spot where his limitations will become evident all over again.BTW, KU is going to be in the national championship game, so UConn or UK will have to lose to them at one point or another
bengalboomer7
UK is waaaaaaay overrated this year!!! I really enjoyed the Florida game yesterday. UCONN is a bit overrated too, but seem to be hitting their stride right now. As long as Arizona has a good Oline Warner will do fine. He's the same as Bledsoe, they both hold onto the ball too long and can't make quick decisions. Warner is probably in the better situation because Zona has some real tough young recievers. If he can get some running help he could put up some adequate numbers. It helps that his division is pretty weak too with the mentallly handicapped Seahawks and the martz crazy rams. He was sacked more than 40 times in a half a season with the Giants, but the Giants OL only gave up 9 sacks after Eli Manning came in. That means Warner was the problem. He just doesn't have it any more...perhaps he never did...

In fairness, Warner has been nothing but a class act the whole way. He never cried out of his contract with the Giants, he signed what was essentially a one year contract. It was never meant to be for more than one season.

As far as Kurt never having "it," there is one thing he does have. A Super Bowl ring. That's "it" as far as I'm concerned!

But the way that he left the Rams was about as classless as it gets. And I thought that Eli did a really good job at getting ground into the turf...and an even better job at tossing INTs under pressure. Wait, was that snarky? It's not the Giants, ckj, it's just Eli.Oh, and Kurt Warner does have "it"...if "it" is a really weird-looking wife who he probably never would have married if he wasn't sacking groceries when he met her. Oh, and a SB ring. Wait, was THAT snarky?I am full of snark today.

BengalszoneBilly
what is snark? A sort of sarcastic/derogatory comment made at someone else's expense, if I'm not mistaken. Related to a backhanded compliment, where you're not quite certain if you've just been lauded or laid out!
HoosierCat
Profootballtalk.com came up with this interesting tidbit: both Warner and McCown are rep'd by the same agency.I have to think there's an itty-bitty, teeny-weeny conflict o' interest there...
