Houshmandzadeh's agent, David Dunn, who also represents Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer, left the NFL Combine in Indianapolis without a deal, but talks continue with Bengals negotiators Troy and Katie Blackburn.

"I love working with T.J. because he's a well-balanced person who doesn't take himself too seriously," Dunn said. "He has a great passion for the game and has his priorities straight. He knows the value of winning. He'd love to stay (in Cincinnati) and I think they'd love to have him. We'll see whether it can be figured out. We hope so."

The team and T.J. appear to be close, and he seems genuine about wanting to return.

Nice work, attacking the person rather than the arguement. I guess that means you know im right?

And to the person who said the falcons were the best running team in the league last year, on paper they were, but they got 900 of those yards with their quarterback, their RBs are just average, id take Corey Dillon over dunn or duckett any day.

http://www.nfl.com/stats/teamsort/NFL/OFF-...ar?sort_col_1=7

Patriots were 7th in the NFL in rushing offense.

So much for your little dream.

Kyle Boller had the worst QB rating of any starting QB that played over

half of the season.

Rex Grossman Doug Johnson Jay Fiedler were the only QB`s

in the entire NFL that had lower QB ratings than Boller.

http://www.nfl.com/stats/playersort/NFL/QB...ar?&_1:col_1=15

I`m starting to think you are here just to be a stir stick.

Either that or you are the smartest dumbass I have ever seen.

The only reason I say you are smart is because you can type.

Unlike you guys, i base my opinions off watching them play, rather then looking at stats. The patriots running game behind corey dillon was the best in the league as far as im concerned.

And i know about boller's qb rating on the year, but this was his 2nd year starting, he had games where he really showed a ton of talent, and he had games where he looked bad, just like palmer, i expect him to have more good games this year, you guys just like to call him a bad pick because hes the 1 raven first round draft pick (besides travis taylor, he sucks) you can find in recent memory that hasnt become a total stud right away.

Huh? What are you talking about? Kyle Boller doesnt suck.

... In fact as far as ive seen, he has shown that he might end up being the best of all the QBs taken in that draft ...

Let me get this straight ...

You say that you are a Bengals Fan ...

Yet you claim that Boller has "shown" better than Palmer so far ?

You know what ...

Not even Ravens Fans believe that.

Very few, of even the "Most-Homer-of-a-Ravens-Fans", would make such an Asinine claim.

There is no way, that I can believe that any Bengal's Fan would.

You know what else ...

The more that I see of your posts ...

The more that it looks like you are just another "TROLL".

From Bengals.com

Updated: 3-1-05, 9:40 p.m.

BY GEOFF HOBSON

There appeared to be guarded optimism that Houshmandzadeh could get wrapped up before too long into Wednesday.

Contacted about 2.5 hours before the deadline, Houshmandzadeh said. "I'm working with the Bengals as we speak."

Buh-bye TJ... Have fun working for Coughlin.

I'll gladly take a David Terrell and a decent mid/late-round WR.

Plus with P-Dub coming back (how good? not sure..) and K-Wash having to actually step up...

Let's not sweat TJ leaving, if true.

I agree, I don't think it's going to be that big of a deal. I wouldn't mind bringing David Terrell in to be the #2. His problem in Chicago was that he never really lived up to the expectations surrounding someone who was taken 8th overall. Another knock on Terrell is that he drops easy passes and gives up when he's not the #1 option on a play. It wasn't completely his fault, though, as he had like 9 quarterbacks throwing to him during this time there. Coaching and scheme changes have really hurt his development. Chicago's offensive line led the league in sacks given up last year and the starting QB (Grossman) went down for the year and DT still had about 700 yards receiving with the backups throwing to him (Quinn, Krenzel, and Hutchinson).

With a change of scenery, some stability, and a QB like Palmer throwing to him, he might have a chance to be pretty good. Just a thought. Here is his career receiving stats:

David Terrell

Height: 6-3

Weight: 212

Born: 03/13/1979

NFL Experience: 4

Yeah, that's why we say he sucks !?!?!? Doesn't matter if you go by stats or watch the game as what you base your decisions off of, BOLLER SUCKS !!! His stats SUCK, his play SUCKS, and even though he may have had a few good games (which I can admit), he still SUCKS. If you have truly watched him play, there is no way you can say he's going to be something special in this league. When is his contract up ?? Let's revisit this when the Ravens have to spend more money on him and see what they do... Oh yeah, another point to make is, BOLLER SUCKS !!!

WHODEY !!!

Its all over the place, but link or no link its still just a rumor.

And incidentally, its probably not true either. The Giants GM, Ernie Accorsi, came out the other day and said he wasn't interested in TJ - apparently he's too slow. He also said he wasn't interested in Derrick Mason. I've a hunch we're going to see Plaxico Burress in Giants blue next season...a very overcompensated Plaxico Burress that is....

Agreed, the Jints don't seem to be chasing TJ. However, there's a good deal of media chatter up my way about the Jets being interested in him, now that the Coles-Moss thing has gone poof.

Latest rumbling are that the Jets, who were once linked to Mason along with us, Balti, and Jax, are now also looking elsewhere. (Balti has now emerged as the current fav to land Mason, apparently the Jags have balked at his reported $5 million/year demands.) And allegedly, TJ is their first alternative to Mason.

Haven't heard a thing about Burress so far...

I would be for taking a chance on Terrell.

From bengals.com

3-2-5, 2:45 p.m.

FREE AGENT UPDATE: Bengals wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh wouldn't confirm he has agreed to a contract with the Bengals Wednesday, but all signs point to him on the verge of what could be a four-year deal with the club. Houshmandzadeh, who lives 20 minutes from agent David Dunn's Newport Beach, Calif., office, said he has been called there after Dunn talked to the Bengals this morning. He said he expects to meet with Dunn within the hour. . .

As long as it is not the Ravens.

Agree, but then I think, Boller is still the QB right ?? Ha Ha !!! (Simpsons tone)

WHODEY !!!

I agree Boller sucks but I don't want to hear the cries next year about "another one that got away..."

Don't worry too much about that, because...well, I didn't really have a big, intelligent point to make here, I just wanted to reiterate that KYLE BOLLER SUCKS!!!!!:lol::lol::lol:

Please stop making a fool of yourself with these rediculous comments.

Wow...the pot calls the kettle black!:lol::lol:

God, that made my day.

So you're a homer for Dillon and Perry, and now you're going to stand up for Kyle Boller? I was wrong about you, DPM...your presence is a breath of fresh air, if only because you provide everyone with a good laugh every so often.

And I'm sorry that you find my comments to be so "rediculous". I guess alot of the people on this board are "rediculous" to you.

Yes, I attack you because you are so, so right.

*sarcasm off*

It wasn't really an attack...it was a fact. A documented fact, actually. You are a homer for Dillon and Perry, and you stood up for Kyle Boller when those around you said that he sucked. Kyle Boller is a bad QB, and as for him having a couple of good games...well, every squirrel finds a nut sometimes.

And what argument did you make that had any facts to refute or any factual evidence in the first place? If your argument was simply "Well, I don't think Boller sucks", then how were you more right than I was, or how were you more right than OldSchooler, who actually provided stats to prove his point?

You always say that people are attacking you when you think that you're right, but you never seem to be able to prove that your point actually holds weight. And yes, mine was also just an opinion, there was no statistical evidence to back it up, and I could be wrong.

Did I mention that Boller sucks?

Dudes - cool your jets. Sheesh. Yeah, I'm a newb here, but this is pretty blatant.

We're here to talk bengals, and we're not all going to agree, but saying player X sucks and player Y is garbage is bait for other posters who happen to disagree with the statement made.

Let's not bait each other, and let's certainly not attack each other personally.

We're not all going to agree on everything, so accept that and discuss your position on a given matter. If you don't like someone personally just ignore what they have to say. It's not life or death that anyone respond to anythign someone else has to say, no matter how "baiting" it is. Actually, thats when it is MOST important not to respond.....

If you can't do that -- might I suggest simply not posting at all?

and now, back to Bengals football....

My apologies, TJ. Sometimes I just can't help it, but you make a valid point.

So anyway, did you hear about TJ NOT being a Giant?

Oh, and btw - having pics of half naked women as part of one's sig makes it hard for me to read these posts while at work.....boss walks by, sees I have a half naked chick on my screen......is there any way to block sigs?

Failing that, is there any way those of you having such images in your sigs could, uh, remove them? I get the point - so and so is hot. Yeah. Fine. No problem. But I'm here to read about the Bengals, not look at half naked women, and I think that's pretty much true for any user here.

Clarification: Mind you, I don't find the pics offensive. I am no prude. I am also very much in favor of free speech. It'd just be better for me personally if they weren't on nearly every forum page i read on this site :-)

You make a very good point. As a teacher, I often read the forums from school, and you can see how that would be a problem.
