Marvin Lewis gets another extension

You know the best part about this is when he was first hired it was "If he makes them respectable, he can get any job in the league he wants." This type of thing is making that true, although the only job he'll want is the Bengals job. There really seems to be the type of loyalty between Coach and Mike Brown that will keep him here for a Cowher like reign, even though it's sort of against the trend for that to happen.

It's very uncommon for the Bengals to make a news release about a head coach, and his contract, and it's a good thing for all parties involved. I mean those things just didn't happen too often during these past 10-12 years.

I like it Mike. Keep it up! :player:

How bad was Dave Shula? With three more wins, Marvin Lewis will equal the number of wins that Shula got in over 4 seasons. Five more and he will tie Bruce Coslet. Six will make him the fourth winningest coach in team history.

It's interesting to note that only two coaches had a record above .500, Forrest Gregg and Bill "Tiger" Johnson.

Sam Wyche 1984-91 64-68

Paul Brown 1968-75 55-59-1

Forrest Gregg 1980-83 34-27

Bruce Coslet 1996-2000 21-39

Dave Shula 1992-96 19-52

Bill Johnson 1976-78 18-15-1

Marvin Lewis 2003- 16-16

Dick LeBeau 2000-02 12-33

Homer Rice 1978-79 8-19-1

Yea, if Marvin has another 8-8 season he'll be 4th all-time winningest coach. I love the Bengals man, but that's just sad! 3 8-8 seasons and you're 4th all-time.:lol:

Thank GOD The Age of Helplessism is over.

Hell, if it wasn't for Paul Brown's, Forrest Gregg's, and Marvin Lewis's names listed there, I would have thought I had accidently surfed into "Under-Achievers.com!" <_<

This makes me very, very happy. It also makes me wish that August would HURRY THE HELL UP!!! PLAYOFFS, B**CH!!!

Knowing this inspires confidence that I haven't experienced all that often as a Bengals fan. ML 4 Life, and oddly enough, Mike Brown 4 Life :o :player: :player: :player:
