Just curious...

Is anyone having a problem getting onto this website ??  I have been trying for the past week, but have not been successful.  Just curious.  Maybe just my computer.

WHODEY !!!

I haven't been able to get on for over a month now. I too figured it was just a problem with my computer. I'm a contractor for the Army, and use their network. Maybe that has something to do with it. That's the only site I have trouble with.

Maybe it's a conspiracy against the Bengals on behalf of the Army....

I'm going to have to talk to someone about this. It's killing me.

WHODEY !!!

what are you doing on the internet anyway?"

If that's the kind of response you'd get - my guess is it's blocked. If you know any IT guys there or admin's I'd ask them privately if there's any reason why you couldn't view it.

They have this "surf control" crap for sites that they block (i.e. gambling and porn sites) with it's own message saying "access denied." I get the standard "Can not find server...page cannot be displayed" message when I try to go to bengals.com. And that's the only site I have trouble with.

The IT guy here is a Steelers fan. Maybe that's the problem.

That reminds me, I'm a computer tech and there are various Steelers and Browns fans and on each one of them, I put the Bengals.com home page on their IE and put a beautiful picture of a Bengals tiger on the background.

The funny part? I've set it to where it resets the homepage and wallpaper each time the computer is rebooted. Now there's word going around if your Pitt or Clev fan then don't tell Josh or he'll Bengalize your ass.:lol:

I had trouble for the first time yesterday - the browser couldn't find the pages. It didn't last long - I came back in an hour or two and it was working fine.

That's hilarious. I'd love to be able to do something like that around here. "Your ass has been Bengalized. Please contact your network administrator.":lol::lol:

A thread entitled "Just Curious" seems like the perfect place to ask the following question. What's with that little...Warn%...thing under my name? I seem to be the only poster with one.

Am I on double super secret probation?

Evidently that is set up so that the person logged in can only see it for their own user name.

Okay folks...EVERYBODY has one of those "warn" meters next to their name. You can only see your own though. If it's at "zero", which 99% of you are, that's a good thing. Try to keep it there.

10% isn't too bad, but you've pushed a button of an administrator or moderator somewhere down the line. Mind your manners for awhile, and it should return to zero. Anything over 10% and you may be in deep doo-doo. Well...as deep as the doo-doo can actually be at a forum! I'd say that's where the "double super secret probation" kicks in at! ^_^

Gotcha. I sorta figured it was something like that, but I wanted some clarification before reaching out to push the...big...red...soft...shiny...enticing...buttons that sometimes seem to call out to me.

But I must be strong, and always remember to ignore the buttons....especially the little one labeled DontPushMe.

You know...life can be pretty easy if you just look for the clues.
