John Abraham.

If John Abraham, Isn't tagged, would you care if the bengals offered him Jevon Kearse type Money?

I have a feeling this will be the offseason Mike Brown proves he isn't cheap and Marvin Proves he does have control of who he wants on the team with cost not being an issue. I seriously think we will make a big dive into FA.

With 2 big signings and this coming at the cost of about 5 Veteran Players on our team.

If he started playing Jevon Kearse type of defense, no. If he just plays like John Abraham, then hell yes I do mind!

IMO Abraham isn't close to the impact player Kearse is!

He didn't want to play in the Jets game because he didn't want to play hurt and damage his value on the free agent market.

Sounds not too different than a Bengals QB who got hurt in the NE game w/ playoff life on the line and has a $4 mill option due in April :D

I've heard Herm say in no uncertain terms that J Abe will be a Jet next year. I believe what Herm says when it comes to personnel decisions in part because if he says someone will be w/ team then 2 days later turns around and cuts them loose, the media up there in NYC would eat him alive for being a bald-faced liar.

I think that was ML's decision not Palmer's.

i PROMISE you that was an ML/organizational decision. no way can you be serious about maintaining that point.

right, as i understand it, Palmer really wanted to play. ML kept him out cause he didn't want to take a chance on risking serious injury, and since we were out of the playoffs he sat him

as far as Abraham, we dont need players like that on our team. he proved he wasn't a team player, and only thinks of himself. y would ML want that here.

I'm not sure why folks would think a speed rush DE would'nt have a harder time playing w/ a knee sprain than a pocket passer.

Agreed that J Abe missed the playoffs but the Bengals were still alive vs. NE when Palmer went down and out regardless of whose decision it was for him to not come back in.

Maybe if CP really wanted back in, he could have been a little more insistent, say like Richie Braham who did go back in and finish the game despite a broken bone in his knee.

I think we all would have loved to have seen Palmer finish the season, but again his boss told him he was out. Period.

Had we managed to beat New England, I think Kitna was still going to play against Buffalo. After that game we were 6-8 and basically out of it.

Hell, I think Richard Seymour has something wrong with his knee and he missed two pretty important games in the last two weeks. Maybe he should have been more insistent too.

I really hope we aren't going to start questioning Palmer's toughness. We've had enough of that from the Willis family of posters among others.

As a Jets fan let me give you the heads up on Abe.

A) He got a very bad rep by everybody, especially the NY media, on his inability to play. He was too honest w/ the media but he really couldn't go. His teammates, including the very frank and honest ones, said he couldn't go.

B). The risk you have w/ abe is that he hasn't been able to stay healthy..he is a 10 to 11 game a season guy...buyer beware (including us)

C) He is a better player than Kearse, plain and simple. As we know, the Freak isn't close to the Freak he was his first two years in the NFL. John Abe is a rare rare pass rusher that doesn't come around often. He is a sack a game type of guy and can change a defense. You have to gameplan against him specifically.

When healthy, he will get you 16-20 sacks a year. He also is much improved agsint the run and can be DEADLY as an outside LB in a 3-4. Again, the problem is if he can stay healthy.
