Sigh...It's Kitna vs. Philly

I know the rest of you follow this kinda stuff closer than I do, so what do you think we could honestly get from Miami (or others) for just Kitna (no package deals)?  Basically, what's Kitna's current value as seen by other teams out there, not by us who are so close to the Bengals?  Just curious...

I like Kitna .... always have, but if we got offered a 4th rounder I'd sign the paper before they could change their mind.

For all his good qualities, he's got some baggage ( some deserved and some not ) and he ain't no spring chicken either. He'd be a perfect fit for someone who has a young qb that they were looking to groom and work into their system either at the end of next season or the following one ..... like we did with Palmer.

Our best deal would be to package him .......... by himself, he's just not going to go for that much. B) That's just my opinion tho.

Kit for a 4th...ehhhh...maybe. Early 4th. I'd definitely prefer a day 1 selection.

But...any discussion of draft/FA/traded QBs this year is being conducted while standing on top of the NFL equivalent of a hydrogen bomb. And that bomb's name is Drew Brees.

I'll give you three JCPrognistications for the upcoming offseason:

1. Brees will be franchised by the Chargers. They have the cap room.

2. Someone else will sign him to an offer sheet. My bet is Dallas, but possibly SF.

3. SD will take the picks. They have Rivers and the cap room to soak up the hit.

Once that mess has sorted itself out, then teams with QB issues will start to mate up with various FA QBs. IF SF doesn't get Brees, they may be willing to pony up a pick for Kit, say a fourth but that would be pick 1 on day 2. That would give them the freedom to play with the first overall, trade down, and pick a QB of the future either later in the first or at the top of the second. And Kit has already expressed a fondness for returning to the West Coast.

That;s my scenario. Won't happen, of course, nothing I ever think does, but that's never stopped me before!

Kitna won`t be traded to any team for anything of value.

The fact is that a mediocre aging QB isn`t a very hot commodity

in the NFL.

Miami just traded a 2nd round pick for Feeley LAST YEAR.

They won`t be doing that again this year.

Chicago has 3 good young QB`s that were hurt.

And Jeff George IS a better QB than Kitna. Kitna has

a better personality...but he lacks the skills George has.

Kitna has 4 TD`s and 4 INTs. He has been sacked 6 times in 2 and 1/4th games.

He has a lower completetion % than Palmer. And a lower QB rating.

Face it ...he is a mediocre QB that had a career year last year and

no team wanted to trade for him then. So why would they now ?
