walzav29
I have a better feeling going into the off-season believing that Palmer is going to be a star QB. I was wondering if that was the general consensus among all Bengal fans or do you feel that he hasn't proven himself? He has went against the toughest defenses in the NFL and has stood tall. Any thoughts?
jjakq27
I have felt all along (even after the first few games) that this guy is going to be a winner in this league and for this team. I saw him play against Iowa in the Orange Bowl two years ago and he threw for 300 yards against a good defense. And after the game he said he was "unhappy" with his performance! Since that game I have been a fan of his and hoped that they would take him over Leftwich. In the Lions preseason game in 2003 he had a perfect QB rating with some great throws and plays. I think he has shown a lot of people that he can play in the NFL and isn't going to be another Akili Smith or Klingler (or even Jack Thompson). membengal
No doubt from me, and there wasn't much doubt to begin with. The comeback against Baltimore on the road cemented it. The effortless way they moved it against NE with him in there confirmed it (compare what NE did on the road against the Jets offense if you are a lingering doubter) and the Bengals horrificly sluggish offense the last two weeks in his absence should have killed the last doubt from anyone not calling themselves bengal bax.We have our QB. A real good one. A threaten-Pro Bowls-win-games-for-this-franchise good one. Get us to the playoffs good one.The offseason will be a lot less uncertain because of it.And, don't underestimate what his development will mean when they recruit free agents...the D guys they want will all know what they are building here offensively. walzav29
It's the best feeling that I can remember going into an off-season. None of the indecisiveness.Watching the Packers year in and year out go to the playoffs because of Farve shows me how much we have to look forward too. It took years and years to settle. It will be nice to see a %100 attention focused on this defense.
bengalboomer7
Good point membengal, defensive guys may want to come here already knowing the offense can put up some points

He's still on the raw side, but I was impressed by his improvement over the course of the season. I'm looking forward to seeing him under center in Cincy for the next decade. BENGALTHEM
I agree, Palmer is the real deal. There was a definite improvement in Palmer's play, as the season progressed. It was frustrating at times to see some of the bone head picks he threw, but I have to realize this is his first year playing and he can only get better. It's too bad Warrick got hurt. I think Warrick would have helped Palmer out. It would have been nice to see CJ, Housh, and Pdub out there on the field together.I think Kelley is a stiff. He has all the physical talent in the world yet he is still just an average receiver. Kelley needs to step up next year. He's too big and fast to be mediocre. bengalboomer7
With the emergence of TJ as the #2 at the beginning of the year I think KW's days are all but numbered, it's too bad too, I was one of the guys saying that P-dub would be outta here when they originally drafted him
ckj414
I wouldn't mind seeing Kelley Washington hit the street - my Giants could use some WR help, and the kid has talent, it couldn't hurt to take a flier on him ...
San Antonio Bengal
Palmer is the real deal. Still raw, tho. And will continue to be for the next little while. Most QBs don't hit their stride until a few seasons in the league, but Palmer definitely has what it takes.Doesn't it feel great to head into the final game of the year and the off season knowing who your QB is and who your coach is? We can finally focus on other parts of the team...

We can finally focus on other parts of the team... Have to agree that Palmer is still a work in progress, but when they're done with him ...... he is going to be a piece of work. While it's true that it takes a season or sometimes 2 to fully develop ( I've heard commentators claim 3 and even 5 ) , the real stinkers make it obvious from the beginning. Now whether or not he's going to be " great " depends on longevity and consistency, and we're just going to have to wait and see. As to KWash .......... With his combination of speed ... size ... and strength, I'd be amazed if they're quick to kick him to the curb. You have to remember that he's raw too, but you can see flashes of the potential. If he can be coached up, then he's going to be a real asset to the team. After watching Lewis the last couple of seasons, it's a lot more likely that he'll work KW's ass off of him rather than give up on him ........ Replace KWash with TJ in a lot of these posts, and you've basically go the same discussions that were going on a year ago. Funny how that goes ... huh !
