HoosierCat Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylc=X3oD...ov=ap&type=lgnsUnreal. I'm sorry, I think Vick's a great QB, but he ain't that great. Quote
CTBengalsFan Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 must feel nice to sign that contract Quote
semiotter Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 I think he got slowed by the injury he got last year. Cuz he is the real deal.. Quote
kevnz Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 Well, he has been the starter for two seasons and the Falcons made the playoffs both of those seasons and sucked big time the season he didn't start, can't argue with that. Plus look at the revenue he helps bring in with jersey sales and tickets sold. Vick is a winner, and he get's people's attention. He may never post the greatest stats, but he's got the most important ones and that's the W's. Quote
Kirkendall Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 See, I like this deal. I think the Falcons made a great commitment their future -- I wonder though if there's an injury clause. And it's not like it's all guaranteed anyway, they'll just redo the deal -- also called an "extension" later down the road.As Kev comments on, this is a great business deal for the Falcons. The_Next_Big_Thing Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 He isn't a 130 million dollar QB, that's for sure. However, when you factor in the fact that he fills the seats and about 25% of that dollar amount is guaranteed, it isn't that bad. However, what do we have to look forward to when Palmer is ready to resign? ckj414 Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 Ouch! But good observation on this being a business deal for the Falcons. If this contract were based purely on on-field performance then Vick just became the most overpaid player in league history... Quote

So if Vick suffers a career-ending injury away from the field, he will still collect the $37 million in bonuses. That is believed to be the largest fully-guaranteed bonus in league history.lmfao Quote
