Is anyone on Earth giving the Bengals a chance?

Actually a few people are giving the team credit and a chance. In fact if it wasn't on the worst field in the NFL then I think even more people would pick the Bengals for winning. In fact during Kings weekly picks at si.cnn.com he says he'd love to pick the Bengals....except it's in Foxboro...So there you go.

You have to look at it this way. The only thing the rest of the country has seen from the Bengals in the last decade is losing. Sure they won a couple of big games as of late but you can't expect everyone in the world to think the way Bengals fans do. I know the Bengals are gonna put up a fight. If they win it will be bigger than the Chiefs game as far as good PR for the team. I think they can beat the Pats if they play like they did in the 4th quarter of the Baltimore game.

that's because these guys are better. Brady and Bellicheck are unstoppable.

c'mon your best offensive weapon is a rookie QB, Bellicheck will have a field day with him

I don't recall the Steelers having a problem stopping Belicheck and Brady.....Dumbass

Is he playing like a rookie? Ask Baltimore if Carson is playing like a rookie. Truth is this is his second year and it took some time for him to get back in to playing shape. He's going to have a career day on the Pats third rate corners. Subscribe to ESPN, Asshat there are more weapons than Carson.

i'll say this, you guys are a team on the rise. It will be fun to watch Carson and Big Ben bettle it out every year.

But right now you guys haven;t reached that level. The PAts need this win if they want to have a chance at home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. they are an elite team playing at home

B) You have no idea how much good it does me to see you come on this site and say that. A few weeks ago you'd have been laughed off the page for making that statement.

You guys have a decent defense overall and will likely win this game. However.... if you think Palmer is good now then wait till game day. You and your defensive coordinator will probably piss yourselves ... a couple of times. :player:

Absolutely. That'll be fun to watch for years to come especially with Ben's ties to SW Ohio...will be a great rivalry.

No we haven't. Beating the Ravens at home last week was definitely a step in the right direction but there are still more pieces that need to be added. I won't count the Bengals out this week though. Playing some of the best defenses in the league this year has been great experience for Carson. He may very well have proven last week tha he's turned the corner for good. We shall see.

The Bengals best offensive weapon isn't Carson Palmer, it's a balanced attack with a great receiver in Chad Johnson, a good receiver in TJ Alphabet, and finally, a strong running game with Rudi Johnson, who has filled in just fine for Leon Dildo-on. If we get a good tight end, and Pdub back, and Kwash out of his sophmore slump, the offense will be unstoppable and remind people of what Indy and Philly are doing this year.

Fantasy sports people are saying to start Bengals players because they are going to have a great game against the Patriots.

The Bengals can win this game!

For what it's worth we were given absolutely no chance in the following games over the last year. The Chiefs in 2003, Denver on Monday night, the Steelers here and the Ravens in Baltimore this year. The Bengals won three out of those four.

I think they are getting comfortable with being the underdog. They really have nothing to lose since they are not suppossed to win anyway.

I am sure they will show up on Sunday.

Trust me when I say that the Bengals are very dangerous right now. This is a team that is maturing and they are doing the right things. This is a very confident group of guys and they are just realizing what they are capable of after beating the Gayvens on the road.

Don't take this team lightly, as they will take a bite right out of your ass!

Let's put this in perspective guys, and look at it from a non-Bengals fans point of view; the Patriots are 11-1, the Bengals are 6-6. But I haven't seen anyone, other than the better-type-sites, say we're going to get blown out; just we're going to lose. Oh well, I guess I just see why they would say we'd lose, and personally couldn't give one hell.

I tell you what Steel, I'm looking very forward to a big ben vs. carson rivalry for the next 10+ (hopefully) years. Don't worry, you'll still be welcome here when our teams meet. Just QUIT sweeping us... damn! B)

Ok i know Preseason dont mean much but we beat them in preseason pretty badly. And if i remember right the new england left there starters in most of the game because there coach was pissed because they were playing so badly. I mean it was there starters against our 2nd and 3rd stream guys. A lot has changed since then, they have played much better and we have changed a lot. But a win is not out of the question. We have finally jumped over the hump now and we are going to surprise a lot of people out there this week just wait and see. I think we will win, but i do understand what NON BENGAL fans are thinking.

Brady and Bellicheck are unstoppable.

You just pegged the "Bulls**t-O-Meter" with that erroneous statement Player6600! The Steelers seemed untroubled in finding many ways to stop "Tommy-Boy" and his sideline-kick known as "The Genius"! In fact they made it look damn easy...almost as easy as did the Bengals defense in the preseason matchup in Cincy. You remember that spankin', don't you? If you don't, ask Mr. Dillon. I'm sure he can give you an accurate account of his total frustration of being SHUT DOWN that day!

Dude...did you even watch the last game between these two teams, or was that erased by some freak selective memory condition you have going on? There WAS a field day held there, but it was Tom, Corey, and Bellicheck on the recieving end! And for the last time...Palmers not a rookie. That was last year when he stood on the sidelines watching his Mentor, Jon Kitna start as QB. This is his sophomore season, and 1st as a starter.

Don't act as though Cincy has NO chance this Sunday. They absolutely do! I admit the odds are not heavily in the Bengals favor on this, but I'm like ol' Dave Chapelle, by "keepin' it REAL" around here!

I've been watching the NFL since the late 60's and learned long ago that exhibition season should be almost completely ignored.

If the Bengals exhibition blowout is a good example of the relative abilities of the teams why are the Patriots 11-1 and the Bengals 6-6? Ever consider the possiblity that the exhibition game was a fluke?

Who'd ever thought they see overconfident Bengals fans?

Of course you guys have a chance. This is the NFL! Any team can win on any given Sunday. That is what makes this league so good.

Look, you guys have a great coach, good D and an up and coming offense led by a stud QB. Oh, did I mention you have a good set of young WR's?

This game should be a lot of fun. To even bring up the Steelers game as a testing ground is a bit foolish though. Even though both teams had their share of injuries, the Pats were without their 2 starting DB's and were without your old 'pal' Dillon.

I'm not taking anything away from Pitt though, they are awesome this year and won fair and square. But, everyone has an off day, which leads me back to my original thoughts. You do have a hell of a chance to win.

Stay healthy and may the best team win.
