BengalByTheBay
wow. i started a thread that was cleary in jest (although i think the patriots are the better team), then i get attacked out of left field by a steeler fan, then when i defend myself i hurt some feelings. sorry fellas, i thought you were tougher than that. Good jest -- funny stuff. Don't quit your day job (when you get one).And...I would hesitate to judge toughness based on anything that happens on a website. denverbengal
sad, sad indeed..... Mr. Givens,Sad indeed. Sad that their is nothing more in your life than to go to message boards and deride another team and their fans.Browns fans have long been the most obnoxious in football to my knowledge.Recently some Steeler fans here in Houston have joined the mix in the most obnoxious category.I recently read on the net that Patriot fans are indeed the most obnoxious.Welcome to the ass hat club. You sir, are weak. wow. i started a thread that was cleary in jest (although i think the patriots are the better team), then i get attacked out of left field by a steeler fan, then when i defend myself i hurt some feelings. sorry fellas, i thought you were tougher than that. Here's the thing DG. We already know that on paper the patriots are the better team. And we hear that week after week from trolls like you who come to our board boasting about their team's greatness and our team's suckiness...not to have a meaninful conversation about the upcoming game, but to try and start chit. You may have started this thread in jest, but after hearing so much smack week in and week out, it's kind of hard to tell who's here to be constructive, and who's here to be an a**hole. So, if you'd like to have a meaningful dialogue about our upcoming game, you're more than welcome here. If you want to disrespect our team, take it the smack forum where I'm sure you'll find plenty of people willing to have meaningless arguments regarding whether you're 11-1 team is better than our 6-6 team. Annihilus
Go back to Pizza Planet dude..... Heyyyyyy now.....you can't go judging a whole forum based on the comments of one poster.Besides, what's wrong with pizza? I can't really add much of value to all of the discussion (?) that's already taken place in this thread and in others - but after listening to everyone jabbering back and forth, I'll be much more interested in this game on gameday than I otherwise would have been. slf
... BTW, wasn't the Pittsburgh game over by the end of the first quarter? 21-0 or something like that? Please refresh my memory.Pats scored a field goal first, so it was 21-3 at end of 1st qtr, enclosed is a scoring summary and some stats. No Dillon and just 5 yds rushing!. Pats turnovers on Pats 2nd & 3rd possesions helped Squeelers jump out to quick lead. schweinhart
Besides being at Heinz, the biggest difference between that game and this one is the no Dillon part.Dillon should get gobs of yards. The fewest running left, more running right and most right up the gut if the Bengals don't run stunt a lot and try to bring Smith into the middle more.Another missing part vs. Steelers is Deion Branch. He should be the hardest WR for the Bengals to handle due to his quickness to cut and flat out speed. It's good to see the Pats gave up over 200 yds on ground vs. Steelers, though. But this game still looks like Air Carson to me.

ShulaSteakhouse
I'm prepared for disappointment. I have a feeling the defense will give up 180 yards rushing.
schweinhart
I'm prepared for disappointment. I have a feeling the defense will give up 180 yards rushing. Even so, 180 yds on ground doesn't automatically translate to defeat. The Jets game --yes is was a long time ago but the point still seems just as valid w/ this Bengals D -- the near 200 yds by Martin wasn't what did the Bengals in in part because the long was 20 something yds. Martin never ripped a 75 yd TD like Jamal did and that's one of the keys -- don't give up the long TD run.In the Jets game, one of the game killers came vs. Madieu in his 1st start at CB -- a 50 yd TD to Carter. Madieu also was covering Moss on a 40 yrdr but I can't remember now if that led to points. Another gamekiller was a TD return on a Rudi fumble. The point is Dillon can get lots of yds. That's ok if it happens -- just not 40 yrders. In fact, I'd rather see Dillon have some success because it will keep the game out of the hands of Brady. The less flow he has for the timing routes in the passing game, the worse he'll likely do.Also, no defensive TDs by Pats. Palmer can throw a couple picks but not backed up in his own end zone ala Pittsburgh or if one should be downfield somebody on O tackle the GD returner. Bengals have gotten burnt too many times on long INT and fumble returns this year.If the Bengals DBs go man vs. pass, this should bring the 8th in the box in 3 WR sets by Pats w/ coverage of TE and RB up to LBs and perhaps some DE drop back (though for the love of God not Big Duane, please). The 8 in the box will help contain run, too. It looks like they will have to do this because IMO the Bengals will be destroyed if they rely on zone coverage for this one. bengalady
I'm prepared for disappointment. I have a feeling the defense will give up 180 yards rushing. I am prepared for the big rushing game too. If not I will be pleasently surprised! I still think they will have a hard time stopping our offense too though.
