HoosierCat
If, in this fantasy land, all the good teams choke, and you guys squeak in, do you really just want to get destroyed in the first round? Why does 'Zona's post bring the old saying about pots and kettles to mind?
Tiger Stripes
um kids...I just want to say something...If, in this fantasy land, all the good teams choke, and you guys squeak in, do you really just want to get destroyed in the first round? Then again, in this world where you can beat us and New England, you may just be fine. As long as you don't run into Pittsburgh again. dude your talkin about a team who hasnt been there since 1990... so yeah if we got destroyed in the first round that would be fine by me. at least we could say we was there. Arizona
A 3 point loss on a last minute field goal is not destroyed. You crazy people. And others of you are right, I hadn't taken the lack of playoffs in many many years into account. So, if we don't get to go, I hope you kids get destroyed in the first round. I'll bet you the $4 I have left in my wallet after my wife went Xmas shopping today that any AFCN team that makes the playoffs -- us by some goof of fate, the Ravens, or even the Steelers -- is headed for one-and-done.Next year, tho...this division is shaping up to be a war zone... HoosierCat
And Joisey, the AFCN IS A WAR ZONE, if you haven't noticed already. Oh, we have a brisk little firefight going on, but I think this may become the toughest division in football next year. The Bengals, Steelers and Ravens all have young QBs who have only begun to tap their potential, our defense -- last week notwithstanding -- is on the rise, and finally, Cleveland is due for a massive reorg and will likely play next year with a "nothin' to lose" abandon. This season is just the warm-up, I think...
williamnminor
Hey Tiger Stripes, Pull your head out of your ass if you think we don't have an excellent chance of winning this game against Baltimore. Our offense is much better than last time and Jamal Lewis beat us for them, and he is OUT. On the playoff matter, he is right. While its optimistic thinking, there is a strong possibility we could only be 1 game out of the wild card after this weekend. So, hey, it might not happen, but WHO DEY to the thinking. We would have to put together an improbable run, but why not us?

TMac
Ok the old Bengals died in 02, but most of the fans somehow just don't believe that. They keep replaying the bad old days over and over like a stuck record. Since we have a new team attitude and management, we need A new mental picture of the team instead of the same old Bengals attitude. Granted we are not there yet, but we are getting there. And I think attitude is the real enemy whether it’s the fans attitude that the team can’t or the players because they have not done this before. Winning does wonders for both players and fans. So it’s just a matter of time before we are in the playoffs, but I do believe it could happen sooner than later. Maybe this Sunday in Baltimore. :player:
semiotter
Hey in this crazy N.F.L season anything could happen!! Look at the season the way its going now.Man at the beginning of the year GREEN BAY, BUFFALO couldnt win a game now no one wants to play them(or I wouldnt). And the SEATTLE and MINN. were hot but now they are very beatable..And we are playing alot better here lately. But we got a killer schl. the rest of the way, but if we take it one game at a time we could still be there in the hunt... just think about it.... ShulaSteakhouse
I would be more than happy, in this case, with a winning record - another feat that hasn't been accomplished since 1990. Time to start putting the ghosts of yesteryear to rest one at a time.

Well Tracy McGrady, part of the attempt to do away with that 'Bungle' image was to give them new uniforms. Kinda like you guys have those ugly Japan Anime style Houston Rockets uniforms. (Do you think this has anything to do with Yao Ming being the franchise player on the team? )
JPW
Well sheesh...Now I have the 4 o'clock game on and am Rooting fir SD...
HoosierCat
17-7 SD at the half. Go San Diego Su-u-u-uper Chargers!Other good things so far today:Jets over Houston. We weren't going to catch the NYJ so having them keep Houston off our backs was a good thing.DC blanks the Giants 21-0. Good, I want them with nothing to play for when they get here.NE waxes Cleveland. Much better than facing the Pats all ticked off because the dropped a gimme on the road. And in that game I'll take any tiny advantage i can get.Bad stuff: Buffalo beat Miami, keeps pace with us. They're coming to town in a couple weeks and I hope they cool off. The Fins did put up 32 on them, tho, so maybe their D isn't all it's cracked up to be.
skyline
We're still not going to the playoffs...not even close...New England and Philly are both head and shoulders better than Baltimore. No way we beat NE at home. Plus, we tie with the Ravens isn't going to cut it...we've got to be a game ahead of them...

The Eagles are STOMPING the Packers right now.And the Falcons lost. That all but assured the Eagles of Home Field and they`ll be resting players against us. And we can beat New England. We just can`t beat OURSELVES.
The_Next_Big_Thing
All we need to do is win out, get a wild card, and we can go all the way to the Superbowl! Seriously folks. If we win out, that shows you there's not a defense in the league that can stop us. We will have beaten #1 and #2 defenses all year, we've hung with the best, bring on the rest.Ok, so the chances of even getting a wild card spot after the slow start is slim, but we beat the Reskin, Broco, Miami, and Raven defenses. We also beat the "unbeatable" Pittsburgh defense. If we pull out wins against Buffalo, New England, and Philly, we will have the momentum and pride needed to push past round 1 easily. That they have shown the ability to win against a good team on the road. In short, just the fact that I have one tiny flame of hope...Yup. Whatever happens, my week is made... Lets not forget that in preseason, with their starters on the field through over 3 quarters, we wupped them good. Oh, and our backups (you know, the rooks that are starting now) played their starters well.PS: Corey managed to injure himself just in time to avoid playing us!
