oldschooler
taylors stats are decieving...he actually has a front 7 that can tackle. He is 4th on the Redskins in tackles. He is behind 2 LB`s and a FS SAFETY.Their D-lineman that has the most tackles has 51.Ours has 59. Why are you even a Bengals fan when it seems like you NEVER have anything GOOD to say ? Unless you consider saying their schedule is 10x easiernext year as something good ? chrishcovga
The real key to how well we can grade this years' draft crop will be how much the rest of those guys get on the field over the last 5 games!! grades so far---1. Chris Perry - I know i've blasted Cincy for drafting this guy in the first place, but considering the fact he's only played on 5 offensive snaps all season due to injury, i'll give him an INCOMPLETE.2a. Keiwann Ratliff - Took him a while to add to special teams, but could be promising there. Hasn't made any plays on defense except for a couple of good tackles in Pitt game . Grade D2b. Madieu Williams - There's a reason why this guy was called a " Sleeper " He knocks people out. Really impressive so far. Has done everything asked of him. Still playing behind rookie inexperience, but future looks great! Grade B+3a. Caleb Miller - Play in Preseason was a lot better than regular season. Injuries, and play grade him a D- 3b. Landon Johnson - Has actually played very well as a middle linebacker. Speed shows on game time, but his penalties are ill-timed. Grade C - 4a. Mathias Askew - Supposedly has a " great future ". Haven't seen him dominate even a bench seat. Forced to play early due to injuries, now is out for year with Knee injury of his own. Grade D-4b. Robert Geathers - Has come on as of late. Third on team in sacks despite limited playing time. Promising replacement to Duane Clemons. C 4c. Stacy Andrews - Another " developmental prospect ". Great size, and potential, but limited playing time. Would have loved to see " Brat " use him in some Jumbo packages like the old Bengals used to do, but there's always next year. Grade D5. Maurice Mann - Speedy wideout taken off Practice squad by Miami. NO Grade if you move to another school. 6. Greg Brooks - I really thought he could challenge Keiwann Ratliff for playing time this preseason. Another Practice squad guy, Grade D7. Casey Bramlet - He's a quarterback in case you guys forgot who he is. Other than being the first guy to congratulate a touchdown on ESPN's NFL 2K5, He probably won't see a down in a Bengal Uniform until next Preseason. Grade Incomplete. ShulaSteakhouse
I can't believe you're giving Landon a C-, or even Ratliff a D!Both of them were drafted late in the 2nd and 3rd rounds from what I remember, and neither were brought in to start, spot start, or have much of an impact.I think they've both been solid early and Johnson has actually played better than Webster did.Ratliff played a great game against Washington as a starter and Landon may very well be their best LB right now.I would give them both B's or B+'s.The rest I would agree with! HoosierCat
Brooks has been on IR, hasn't he? He should be an incomplete.Mostly I agree with you, chrish. However, I think your assessments of Johnson and geathers are way too poor! We're talking about 3rd and 4th round picks who've been forced to play due to injury and have responded with stats rivaling those of first-round selections. And you give them a C- and a C??? I guess that means guys like Udeze, Smith and Vilma are F's!
FlavorMaker
Landon Johnson has been outstanding! How can anybody possibly ask for anything more from a rookie 3rd round pick? He's outplayed both Vilma and DJ Williams and he's played a helluva lot less snaps. Plus he's playing outta position. I'm sure Marvin will find a couple more gems next year in the draft. Landon's good... but no way he's better than Simmons. But I agree, Landon deserves a B-/B, and Keiwan deserves at least C+.Perry deserves an F for being a retard and holding out. At least Jackson's producing...You'd think we'd have somewhat of a Bias towards Oregon State players, ya think?(And Jackson's dreads are dope, and that's coming from yours truly, who used to sport them.) oldschooler
im not saying madeiu isnt good, im just saying taylor is good too.I wasn`t saying Taylor is bad either. I was wishing the Bengalscould draft him. What I was doing was comparing a 1st round, 5th overall draftpick to OUR 2nd round, 40th overall pick. Madieu is doing damn good. Taylor is making MILLIONS.Madieu is making chump change compared to him. I`m VERY happy with the pick and money invested.Madieu is a STUD !!!!!
