Bobcat Bengal Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 So since Palmer keeps getting these 'mulligans', WHAT EXACTLY transpired that caused them to lose the game, since Its everyone but him.I'm tired of that tired ass excuse....'its his first year...blah blah'Its Roethlisberger's FIRST season, WHAT's YOUR POINT? Tiger Stripes Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 well fellas thats the season right there! that was the most important game of the season and they blew it. Quote
Scottishbengal Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 Bollocks!I hope Roar-Loud chokes on a Pittsburgh dick!!!!!!!very frustarated, but hey, we were close against what could well be a superbowl team. Look for the positives, address the weaknesses and go forward boldly to next week. Quote

JPW Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 You can "TALK" Palmer all you want...but take a look at our RUSHING game in the 2 nd haft while you are at it....The truth is that we never got Anything going on Offense in the 2 nd haft at ALL.And every time where it even Looked like we Might get it going ..the play was called back. But the Real Truth is that the Steelers just flat out Out-Played us in the 2nd haft. WhoDey42 Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 1) Couldn't stop Bettis.2) Couldn't finish sacks on Ben3) Couldn't stop them on 3rd down4) We were in too many 3rd and long situations5) Penalties6) Carson's two major mistakes.I'm not gonna protect Carson and say that the line wasnt giving him enough time. He made two major mistakes that may have cost us the game, but Kitna is NOT the answer. Carson is going to stay in there. We just couldn't get anything goin on offense.Lets get the Clowns next week...PLEASE. Quote

That's definitely true....I'll agree with you....hence my 'jekyll and hyde' comment earlier.but getting a damn safety in YET ANOTHER TWO MINUTE DRILL doesn't help things.Damn, after watching this entire season, I'm wondering about his clutch, crunch time factor....he doesn't seem to have it. And no, I ain't talking about when we have leads, like Washington and Miami, I'm talking about when we need to score.BIG difference. Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 please.....I watched the same game as you, so I don't want to hear it.The only difference between Roethlisberger and Palmer was that HE made BOTH his mistakes near our endzone.ANd why would you force that ball in there ANYWAY? He was TRIPLE covered. But, hell, the recievers were open all day as you claim, so maybe I missed something.Save your breath, energy, finger strength, whatever, cuz its falling on deaf ears. So, again, Brady and McNabb did worse against them and you expect Palmer to surpass them at this point? In fact he did, but every other week is put in a position where he has to win the game in the last 2 minutes. How many 1st and 20's did they have in the 2nd half? 2nd and 17? 2nd and 25?Penalties and a bad 0-line killed them today, Palmer's mistake was quickly made up for with a perfect drive for his 2nd passing TD. Berger throws for 130 yards a game and wins - I wonder why that is? Quote

We had a lot more chances to sack Roehlisburger and we let him go and he made big plays. Quote

The whole point I'm trying to make....which I think you all are failing to realize....Palmer makes mistakes at I-N-O-P-P-O-R-T-U-N-E times....The 'meaty' part of the game was fine, but possibly he wouldn't have had to be Jim Harbaugh and play "Capt. Comeback" if he wouldn't have blunder that first INT for a TD anyway, right? That's besides the point, because that was relatively early in the game, and like you said, he conducted a brilliant TD after the fact.Shula, and whoever else.....how many times has he commited a CRITICAL two minute drill error this year? And what has been the outcome as a result of those mistakes?Think about that, and then formulate your response. Quote
jditty47 Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 ok im sick of the rookie thing and that being a scapegoat. Palmer and Bratkowski lost this game for us plain and simple. The D played amazing. Special teams coverage sucked so they get an assist but palmer's inability to play a FULL f**king GAME. God im gettin sick of losing games we should win. Palmer needs to THROW THE f**king BALL. GODDDDDD Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 I personally blame coach Brat. We must not have any confiedence in Rudi. He had a good first halff going, we had a halfftime lead and he only called like 5 running plays the whole second half. Palmer's mistakes are inexcuseable but we weren't out of the game so where the hell was Rudi. Look how many times Bettis carried the ball in the second half. We got beat not just because they are a little better, but coordinator wise we just got flat out coached because of Brat. 5 runs in the second half, you've got to be kidding me!! Quote
WhoDey42 Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 we were great! better than other teams that face them. I don't care how good we played compared to other teams that played Pittsburgh. We didn't finish! We played great in the first half...but we came out flat in the second and couldn't make plays. It was a LOSS! We shouldn't be satisfied that we lost but we played better than other teams did aginst the Steelers. Quote
