skyline
Ok, so espn.com gave us a C. No biggie. Here's a quote from Clayton's analysis that stood out to me, though:With a first-time starter at quarterback, the Bengals are losing the turnover battle.Morons.. kevnz
How bloody stupid! That just pisses me off. Do these guys not even do their research? How bloody terrible is that. The Bengals are leading the NFL in turnovers created, and are in the top 10 in turnover margin! Damn that's just shoddy work on ESPN's part

HoosierCat
Fox is really on the ball, too. Found this in Ludwig's DDN reporting today:• The Bengals public relations staff received a telephone call from FOX Sports requesting an interview with former Bengals cornerback Lewis Billups for a show the network is producing on the Super Bowl. Billups died in 1994 when he lost control of a Corvette at 100 mph.

HoosierCat
Some Bengal-related notes from Prisco's midseason report card over on sportsline.com...Best defensive rookie: Madieu Williams, S, Bengals. He has started at both safety and corner and has been a consistent playmaker. Runners-up: Gibril Wilson, S, Giants; Dunta Robinson, CB, Texans; Jonathan Vilma, LB, Jets; Teddy Lehman, LB, Lions Worst moment: The cut block Denver tackle George Foster put on Cincinnati's Tony Williams before a national-television audience on a Monday night. Williams broke an ankle, and the debate about the dirty play of the Denver line came to the forefront again. The block was legal, but cheap. The league will take a long hard look at blocks below the waist after the season. Runner-up: Ricky Williams retiring -- for Dave Wannstedt, anyway. Worst veteran acquisition: Warren Sapp, DT, Raiders. His bark is far worse than his bite. He is miscast in Oakland's 3-4 scheme. The Raiders wasted money on this over-the-hill player. Runners-up: Ted Washington, NT, Raiders; A.J. Feeley, QB, Miami.
