ShulaSteakhouse Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 The Bengals on offense almost seem content running safe, high percentage plays and not turning the ball over downfield, and letting the defense and special teams win the game for them.I think that's why they are throwing short again on 3rd downs and not scoring any points. Nor could this 0-line pass protect a bunch of grandmas. Quote

Nor could this 0-line pass protect a bunch of grandmas. I think is also has to do with not having a second option for Carson. Once Chad is covered we are dumping it off for a 3-yard pass to either the TE or RB's. WR's have been non-existent here... Quote
bengalsfan33 Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 Steelers with an INT.Not looking good for the Eagles... Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 WOW! That was the Palmer we drafted. What a pass and nice run by Schobel. Finally! Quote

EdwardG Posted November 7, 2004 Author Report Posted November 7, 2004 Bam! A big, perfect strike to Matt Schobel for a TD. Well, that's one way to stretch a defense Quote
JPW Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 reading all the post so far on this thread why is everyone so willing to make excuses for palmer. It's time to take charge Carson??? How ya Like him now....People need to get off of the Kid's back already. Quote

Once Chad is covered we are dumping it off for a 3-yard pass to either the TE or RB's. Which makes perfect sense given how poorly the o-line has done protecting Palmer. Frankly, I'm happy to see the short passing game come alive. But I agree we obviously need to mix in some long passes -- and receptions. Being up 3-0 in TO's, having great field position as a result, and leading by just 6 is very inefficient, to say the least.Oh, thanks, Matt! Good timing! Told y'all we needed at TE to do something! ShulaSteakhouse Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 People need to get off of the Kid's back already.I agree, he's not turning it over and if the defense gives him enough opportunities he will make something happen eventually, as frustrating as he can be at times.Matt Schobel, where ya been? UK Bengal Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 its not palmer its the duff play calls hes being given to run Quote
Sox Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 Hey, Tressel at least tries to throw the ball down the field. Our offense is like Tressel's, but without all the excitement LMAO Quote

I think Carson deserves some of the critism, such as adjustments, etc.. but I also think he has WAY TOO MUCH on his shoulders and at times doesn't have the game-plan by Brat to succeed. Either way, we're up and the football gods are happy with cincinnatians.... YAY Gods! Quote
schweinhart Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 Now this team needs to show it has killer instinct and can put people away. Quote
