EdwardG
Wow, a great INT by Tory James. We have forced three turnovers in this half. I hope it turns out differently than the Browns game. Also, Kirk, we should run the ball more, to set up the pass. But since we don't run any play action, what does it matter? Sox
Time for a TD scoring drive.Let's take their running game away totally.
Kirkendall
Also, Kirk, we should run the ball more, to set up the pass. But since we don't run any play action, what does it matter? Simple, it puts single coverage on our wide receivers (i.e. chad johnson) with more guys anticipating rush. A play-action is nice, but running doesn't just set up PA; it condensing the defense allowing more run for more crisp routes.
EdwardG
And hey, the Steelers are up 21-0 on Philly.
ShulaSteakhouse
James lead the NFL in INT's with 5.
Kirkendall
You also wear down the front seven so the running game becomes more effective later in the game.
ShulaSteakhouse
I don't get it - Palmer should see the blitz coming up the middle and the TE should be able to get open and he should be able to dump it off quickly...apparently no one was open - someone's not doing something right. A play-action is nice, but running doesn't just set up PA; it condensing the defense allowing more run for more crisp routes. But we don't throw the ball more than ten yards down the field. Also, play action the the single most important way to get a good passing play off of the run. Running good routes is running good routes, but it's so easy to tell when we pass or run that it has little effect on the safeties.
bengalsfan33
Bengals had to punt...Let's stop them here

Yea well Palmer did well to stay alive and get that pass off. There was good coverage but it still was almost a completion.
Kirkendall
Doesn't matter Ed, Carson can not carry this team on his own. Whether we're getting 1 or 2 yards per rush play, it sets up Carson more. The d-line will be worn down by running eventually setting up time for Carson to make his reads. Once the d-line wears down, the playbook becomes bigger.

HoosierCat
3 turnovers & we're only up 9-0????Why did I quit raking leaves?Effing offense stinks!I see Rudi is catching the ball, tho, good job! Now if he could just run the damn thing...What's up with all Carson's incompletes? I can't get the homer feed to play today (system issues, new computer coming next week). Is Carson off or are the receivers pulling a Cleveland again?
ShulaSteakhouse
This is the worst play-calling and offense I've ever seen. Did someone put Dave Shula on the sidelines again?
bengalsfan33
Once again we had to punt it off...

ShulaSteakhouse
Braham gets called for a false start and they end up in 3rd and 14 situation - so they threw a wide screen to the sideline and it never had a chance.
bengalsfan33
19 yard pass to Witten..We really need a stop here...
EdwardG
He doesn't have to carry the team. But he needs some time to throw and some open receivers. There's a reason The Colts and Broncos run play action all the time - it opens up the offense. Frankly, we are just wasting Carson Palmer's talent with all these stop routes, screen passes, and every other three yard pattern. With our offense, what's the point of having a big armed QB? I would like to see us throw it downfield more to remind the cowboys we have that option to open up the underneth game a little more (rushing). PA really isn't a charactorist for this team because we can't hold the blocks long enough to fake the rush allowing the fake to develop the passing routes. Indy and Denver has the o-line to carry the PA very well. I think it's more of a personnel issue of why we don't run it rather than a philosphy issue.
