walzav29
For some reason I think that the Bengal's still have a chance to have a season. They seem to play alot better when the pressure is off. Which it most definitely is. With 3 of the next 4 at home and the road game is against the Skins, with confidence they could run off a couple. Of course that is a reach considering that they just lost to the Billy Volek led Titans, but with nothing expected of them and a couple of wins in a row. These young guys could improve. Don't look at the remainer of this season in terms of winning or losing. Look at how the Bengals improve at positions, Carson's growth; improvement. If you look at the wins catagory, you could be miserable the entire season. Personally, I'd like to see improved play-calling on offense. I hate Brat like I hate root canals, but he's there and he's probably staying there. I would definitely like to see our pass-happy offense incorperate the run more. On defense, I'd like to see Fraiser make a few calls at the right time. Stuff like that...We're still in act one of an act three play. Look at how the Bengals improve at positions, This is exactly right.I believe Marvin initially reffered to the fact that it took 5 years to build the Ravens defence. There is no "quick fix" with the Bengals, especially when he inherited the team he did. We're on the right track but this season, and probably next, isn't about W-L, it's about player development. The_Next_Big_Thing
The things to watch at this point are:1. Carson Palmer - Get him the reps so he is better prepared for next year. 2. Langston Moore/Mathias Askew - Lets see if we need to draft 1 defensive tackle next year or two.3. Secondary - Will these guys continue to play well and improve or get worse? Is Tory ready for another year? Is Deltha a probowler or a washout? Is Madieu Williams a corner or a safety? Lets face it guys, even if Dennis Weathersby makes a full recovery for next year, he's been out of football and physical training for over two years.4. Running Back - Do we keep Rudi or let him go? Is Chris Perry a complete bust or a guy who hurt himself with an injury or two and a holdout?5. Offensive Line - Can they recover from their injuries or do we need to get a whole new line? Center is questionable since we have 2 antiques playing there, and while experience is key at the position, you must be able to make the blocks too. Kirkendall
My only complaint with the secondary is they are too extreme. One minute they play spectacular like Denver, then give up big plays on others. I would like some kind of medium; they've caused way too many gray hairs on this old noggin. He's practice squad garbage. Miles, Roberts, and Bauman beat him out soundly.Bauman also beat out Ratliff. I think Ratliff is a 2 or 3 year project unfortunately. WorldBFree
Another big question mark, are either L. Johnson or C. Miller starters at linebacker for next year? Hardy is nearing the end of the line.
Kirkendall
Another big question mark, are either L. Johnson or C. Miller starters at linebacker for next year? Hardy is nearing the end of the line. Good point. I would love to see Miller in there.. I think his speed is very good. I would still like to see him take better angles of persuit and put on some bulk. Often times against Tennessee, Miller got blocked and then he's running down the RB 10-15 yards; all in the matter of 2 seconds. Bulk will be good so he can either shed the blocks or help clog the hole for more gang tackling. I'm not big on Johnson (that sounds odd) because I don't think he's got what it takes to become a key contributor. Then again, he's young so only experience and time will tell on that one. Scottishbengal
I wonder if I could get an official position with the team. I like the idea of being an "unconditioning coach" or a "bulk-up co-ordinator"I'd best start saving the bar tabs for my expenses claim, "please sign this Mr.Brown, they are all genuine".Tip for anyone - if I do get the job then take out shares in the Rock Bottom bar - the dividend payouts could be huge! BengalNation1281
I would like to see this team just get to 7-9. With our December schedule being as brutal as it is, I don't know if that can happen, but I would love to see it.I wish that I could be really upset about all of this, but I've been a fan since I knew what football was('94), and how can I defect from a team that wasn't winning in the first place? So let it be heard! WHO DEY! WHO DEY! WHO DEY!And scream it at any Cowboys fan you see!BN1281

ShulaSteakhouse
By the way, what ever happened to Roberts? I haven't seen or heard about him for a while.Another one of Marv's mysterious injuries - he's been "sick" for about a month now I believe. jditty47
on bengals.com theres a article on miller and hobson says the true thing was for him and johnson was to just do ST's this year and then bulk up more in the offseason conditioning program and mb start next year. Unfortunately we have 4 backers on IR and they were forced to play. And they both have hampering injuries that dont make them 100%. Im sure one of them will start next year instead of hardy. Bobcat Bengal
What ain't over? Our losing streak? Our playoff hopes? Silly Bengal fans, EVER SOOOO OPTIMISTIC....f**k it, Ill play along... Okay, first, I'd like to see some of these rookies (askew, geathers, brooks, ratliff, etc) do something out on the field.I'd like to see Carson effectively manage a two minute drill at least ONCE more this season.I'd like to see the defense hold a rusher under 100 yards ONCE more this season.I'd like to see Perry carry the ball more than ONCE in a game. (Those damn Big Ten RB's gets NO Love, ask Larry Johnson.)I'd like to see Chad catch more than ONE TD in a game this season.I'd like to see P-Dub start in a game at least ONCE this season.I'd like to see Squirrel Boy (yours truly) score a TD ONCE this season.I'd like to see the offense play disciplined football (no consecutive penalties ) ONCE this seasonDamn.....I think I'll stop there.....I could literally go on for days....
