typical stuff

No excuse for this one after the way they played against Denver...none at all! The coaching staff did NOT do their job and allowed a let down. Again!

Especially the defense! Given the gift of not having to face Steve McNair, all they do is make the backup QB look just as good, if not BETTER! Are you kidding me? Any respect with me that defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier gained from the defensive showing last week versus the Broncos, he totally squandered today!

Sorry. 100% totally, irrefutably, and undeniably inexcusable! Frazier displayed how much of a liability he is by the defense allowing a team that is so much weaker offensively than defensively to move the ball the way they did.

I'm really anxious to hear the excuses on THIS one!

be disgusted if you wish but ask me this question did you expect to see the same bengals that played monday night.

it was highly unlikley also the titans aint the broncos so they do diff things to them and we basically didnt prepare enough and got caught out bigstyle.

carson made another rookie mistake it happens its his first year there WILL be mistakes we have to live with that its a part of the learning process.

i for one was proud to see them mount at least an effort at a comeback gettting to the redzone with 1 min left the way we were playing was a major miracle and then we fumble it happens we would all be cheering if we have gone in and tied it up.

imo there was a lot of bad calls by both brat and frasier after the game last week which once again showed their ineptness to coach they proved they could do it against the broncos and now they revert to early season crapness.

there are a lot of +'s i have seen so far this year but we are just having trouble keeping that momentum going.

bengals will come good we just have to have faith that marvin can turn it around it aint gonna happen in 1 season with an essensally a rookie QB.

IN MARVIN WE TRUST :player:

I agree UK Bengal, we played horribly 99% of the game today. That last drive of the game gave me somethin to at least cheer about when it was happening. But, we were stupid to expect the same team that played monday night. Just like the 8-8 season last year put way to much expectations on this season... Monday's win put way to much expections on the team this week.

Don't get me wrong, I think we should've won the game...but I don't think we should've expected them to play as well as monday night.

So much for the momentum.

yeah, I did....I guess I'm just naive like that....

obviously, its too much to ask after watching the game.

and low key, I AM getting tired of Carson getting this free rookie pass....3 times the game was blown because of him (not in the game, three different occaisions in the two minute drills)...he better get these kinks out of his system this year, because this s**t is getting OOOOOLLLLLLD.

But that doesn't mean he should be benched though.

The honeymoon is over for all of those muthaf**kers, the whole organization.

Following this team is like babysitting a bi-polar kid.

The ONE Time I didn't think they could pull off a win, they SMASH on the Broncos, and now they can't keep at LEAST a 2-game winning streak....what the f**k..

Bengals fans: Frustration personified.

Ok--f**k, I hate it when I'm f**king right!!!!

First off, let me say I jinxed them Bungles by saying that "Bungles crash back down to earth".

Second, I didn't jinx the defense, Mike Brown did it when he didn't sign a DT in the offseason, however, I stated that:

CHRIS BROWN WILL HAVE 140+ WITH BOTH LEGS BROKEN!!!

Or something like that...

Ughhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

:angry::angry::rolleyes:

and remember kitna's first year starting in the system....

Yep...and remember that in his second year he had a healthy Warrick, a receiving threat at RB (at least half the time) and a healthy o-line most of the year.

And actually, I have to take issue with Willy's title for the thread. If this had been "typical s**t" the final score would have been more like 27-6. This team is simply not good enough to overcome a 14-point deficit. The run D is too weak, meaning the other guys can wind down the clock, and the offense too one-dimensional (the downfield pass is our only reliable weapon).

The big test now for Marvin & Co. is, can they keep the team from throwing in the towel on the season? If they do, then it indeed will turn into the same old s**t.

Joisey-

When I titled this "Typical s**t" I meant to tie-in how we have lost games in very similar fashion.

JETS - All pressure on Palmer to win at end. D can't stop run, we can hardly run ball.

SQUEALERS - All pressure on Palmer to win at end. D can't stop run, we can hardly run ball. 2 INTS in the last 3 min. 1 run back for TD.

BROWNS - All pressure on Palmer to win at end. D can't stop run, we can hardly run ball.

TITANS - All pressure on Palmer to win at end. D can't stop run, we can hardly run ball.

4 of our 5 losses are virtual carbon copies. We suck on penalties. Too much pressure on Palmer to win it all on his arm. Thanks Brat for another great playcalling game.

Even our win over Miami was just about a loss. It looked like the Titans game but instead of choking all we needed was a FG and Graham put it through.

Baltimore beat us. Hands down. We beat Denver. Hands down. The other games are toss-up's that we got lucky on 1 out of 5. Playing this kind of football get you to 4-12 on a regular basis. Pretty much like the Bengals from 1990-2002.

When I say "typical s**t" this is what I meant.

I will re-iterate that Rudi looks very average. He does not seem to hit the hole hard. Stutters and slows in the hole and generally looks awful on 15 of 19 plays. At this point I'd like to see Perry get healthy and handle some starts.

I must also criticize Caleb Miller. I scrutinized his plays during the game to see if it was the D-line or the backers who were f-ing it up so bad. Most of Browns run were between the tackles and this is Millers responsibilites. He overpursued or got handled by the Guard, just about every time. When I say handled I mean shoved around like to 225lb kid he is. When I see Kaesviharn is the first guy to hit Brown for the umpteenth time I know Miller is WAY WAY Way over his head.

Out-hustle the block, don' t over pursue. This is where a bigger middle backer is an absolute must. Look back at Armegis, Ross, Spikes, Foley, etc. These guys were mostly over 255 and could handle a guard. Miller is SS sized. Truth be told Miller would probably make a nice TE if he had hands.

BTW- it was Steinbach who got beat for the sack as Carson scrambled. THe fumble is on Carson for his POOR ball protection, was that a throw? Was the Gus Frerotte? From the 9 with :30-sh seconds, THROW IT AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In that sense, I certainly agree. "Too much Palmer and not enough everyone else" might end up being what's chiseled on this season's tombstone.

Me, too.

Well, it's kinda tough to come down on him about his size. Certainly he needs to bulk up, and a "redshirt" season would have helped do just that. But injuries have forced him into the game. I think they need to look very seriously at putting Simmons back inside.

Agreed. He blew it completely. But you're going to get great and awful with a new QB. We need the other 10 guys around him to pick it up, and for the most part they either aren't...or they can't. :(
