HoosierCat
What happened? Well, near as I can tell the offense didn't even make the trip from Cincy. Either that or they were drinking the whole way up...

Either that or they were drinking the whole way up... You're confusing that with Smith's defense. C'mon, get your facts straight!
BengalszoneBilly
I did not get to watch the game can some people get me some info on the game? Here's all you need to know of why we lost. Clevelands pathetically weakass offense ran all over our DEFENSE the entire game! Almost for 500 total yards! With Garcia at QB for crissakes! mtmeece
A bunch of overpaid girls went to Cleveland and got their asses handed to them. They should cancel the contract of the next player that pulls a stunt like CJ did. These guys need to put their head's down and do what they are paid for and not celebrate anything until they have put a solid stretch of wins together. Carson Palmer looks like he is standing in knee deep concrete. Can't seem to get out of his own way. Start Kitna, sit Palmer he needs more time to do what ever he won't be the first Heisman Bust. Jon Kitna has the skills needed to take this team to the playoffs given a legitimate chance certianly not this year. trade big bucks Palmer and go buy some Defense. OH my god, your stupidity and lack of knowledge of how the NFL works know no bounds. First of all, if you trade Palmer you don't save money to buy a defense, you LOSE money because the signing bonus he received becomes due on the cap immediately. Secondly, Kitna would be having the same problems Carson is right now, because he isn't mobile enough to survive in our collapsing lung of a pocket. The ONLY way Carson Palmer learns is to continue to start. He has a lot of potential, and frankly, a lot to learn. BUT if you sit him now he becomes just another statistic in the line of failed quarterbacks who weren't given the chance to prove they could be a starting QB in the NFL for the Bengals. A line that goes all the way back to just after Boomer left for NY, and ends with Kitna himself.
Bengal_Smoov
Ok does any one have any stats, like how did carson do and what was his stats? and what are people thinking about marvins coaching ability so far? just wonderingCarson played well, but everyone else pretty much sucked. Chad dropped 3 passes, Rudi ran like Eddie George(which is not a good thing), Kelley Washington dropped a TD, and the defense had 3 offsides penalities in the 1 quarter. To be simple, we played horrible coming off a bye week. We should have dismantled the Browns, but they kicked our ass. Imo, the jury is still out on Marvin. Last year he won over the city by bringing excitement back to the Nati'. This year has been forgettable, we didn't better in any phase of the game. mtmeece
Well said Expert. Who Gives a s**t about the lost cap money. The_Next_Big_Thing
Well said Expert. Who Gives a s**t about the lost cap money. Since you are so adept at pointing out how stupid you think i am for expressing my OPINION tell us all how to fix this broken piece of s**t we call a team Ahhh more intelligent talk from you. Who cares about lost cap money? Anyone who wants to be able to ADD players to the team, who wants to be able to get some free agents who can make a difference. Who wants to be able to PAY our players who ARE good to stay...You want to know how to fix this team? Maturity takes time. We have a number of rookies and second year players that Marvin brought in who can make a difference. We need to get our guys healthy, and not have close to a dozen guys on the roster out for the year. We need to be patient. Our secondary will be improved next season, and frankly they are greatly improved this season over last season. We are allowing close to 50 yards per game less than last season in the passing game with a group of rookies who are doing whatever they can to fill in for injured guys. We need to draft some young defensive linemen, and get guys like Mathias Askew ready to play next year. Forget free agency, build the lines from the draft, don't pick up guys you *think* got it done years ago and *hope* can be difference makers for you.We need one more quality linebacker to add to the rotation. We need a young athletic center, and another quality depth guy who can play guard and tackle on the offensive line.We need a tight end who doesn't SUCK.We need Carson Palmer to keep starting, make his mistakes, learn from them, and watch tape of himself making these mistakes over the off season to improve himself. Patience and an overhaul of the roster are the only way this team will get better.
Kirkendall
Carson played well...How? I didn't see but one or two times, that Carson called audibles to take advantage of a blitzing defense. This is one of the mental challenges Palmer will have to deal with -- what I thought as his biggest challenge -- as does every QB in the league. So that leads me to this:Secondly, Kitna would be having the same problems Carson is right now, because he isn't mobile enough to survive in our collapsing lung of a pocket.Kitna can see what defenses are bringing him, what he can do, what he can't, and call audibles to either create mismatches or take advantage of a nickle, dime, or dog defense.Kitna right now, is the better QB because he understands the game; Palmer still needs to develop that understanding. The mental aspect is too much under-estimated in football. It takes time......and this is not a Ben R. situation. The Steelers are leaps and bounds better than us. Who Gives a s**t about the lost cap money. You have to or you can't sign players. The biggest mistake by this team was going 8-8 last year. Case in point, listen to all of us bitch and moan.
