BengalNation1281
I don't want to have the same tired argument, I just want to know what you think about the Cleveland game and who you think should start. I understand that "they have to give the rookie time," but 1-3 seems like it might be a suitable time to make a change. What does everyone else think? Kirkendall
Palmer. Let him get his bumps in bruises while this team is struggling to find their own identity right now. Let the youngsters fail, so we don't fail in the future when we can actually be competitve much less win. I think we should take this season for what it is, a learning experimental season. BTW - This applies for the entire season. This is the general written script for all new head coaches.Year 1. Introduction and AdjustmentsYear 2. Dump old rotting flesh and experiment with youngsters.Year 3. Playoffs!

bengalsfan33
PalmerI think if he has a bad game against Cleveland, which I think he won't than we might think about making a QB change the following week.
ShulaSteakhouse
they aren't going anywhere with this defense, no matter who's at QB.Exactly, and THAT is why this argument is so damn old already. Everyone thinks you can just insert a magical pixie QB in there and they'll start winning games.I wouldn't count on Kitna to make Elwayesque drives in the last two minutes against the league's top defenses every week either, in order to win games.Palmer has been fairly solid considering the crap 0-line and lack of P-dub thus far, except for his idiotic throws at the end of the game when the Bengals, unlike any other team, keep asking their inexperienced QB to win games for them. When the Bengals wake up and decide to spend some money and high draft picks on defense, then maybe Palmer will be as successful as guys like Brady, Delhomme and Burger Boy are/were...when they can relax, focus, and not feel as though they have to score every time they get the ball, or lose the game. cincykent
ESPN Monday Night Countdown said it best, "If you want to go 8-8 then play Kitna.... if you want to eventually win a Superbowl then stick with Palmer."

The smartest thing they've ever said on that show.
