Kirkendall
I like this post. Well thought out actually, and I agree 100% What do you agree about it? You give a lot of s**t to other members here but you rarely suggest anything useful.. are you one of those bull s**t members that just try to start s**t with other members? If so, there's a proper solution for you. If not, then get off it and suggest something useful to the board. Ok?

kitna3perry26
I have been persuded by some smart comments by other posters here to be more patient with Palmer. Start him next week but if this no TD streak conitnues through the Steelers game I am all for putting Jon Kitna in.

jditty47
the potential for palmer is 100000 times greater than for kitna. all you idiots that dont see that need to actually watch a game and focus on what palmer is doing. Kirkendall
Why are you creating a whole new post for this? Note to everyone else, if another Kitna-Palmer post is created before the Pitt game is completed, it will be promptly closed. I hope that's clear enough. Barbarian
Cartman: *Sigh* ***dammit.Another f**king kINTna thread??? Sheesh.Palmer is in until he gets injured (hopefully not) and taken out on a stretcher. Then kINTna will come in.That's the only way kINTna starts. Also, if Palmer does get injured and comes back, Palmer starts.End of f**king story, guys. kitna3perry26
I notice you like to type kINTna.You aren't funny and you look stupid.Jon Kitna had 26 TDs and 15 INT last season. That was one of the best TD to INT ratios for any starting QB's in the league.

That was one of the best TD to INT ratios for any starting QB's in the league.I know--clever isn't it??? kINTna??? I like it too.Seriously man--you are really pulling for this guy--are you Jon kINTna's long lost brother or something???I've got a stat for you then--in 8 years in kINTna's career--do you know what his QB Rating is???75.8. That's right. A mediocre 75. It's very average. Which is what Jon kINTna is--is AVERAGE. He lead the Bungles to 8-8 last year.AGAIN--AVERAGE. That's all kINTna is capable of. But to boneheads like you, he's a god for some reason. Do you wear a hat with a cross on it??? Maybe a "Got Jesus" shirt???Maybe you haven't noticed (and I'm betting vital parts of my anatomy that you haven't) that Palmer ISN'T LOSING GAMES FOR THE BUNGLES???The Defense is. The horrid playcalling from Drunkowski is. NOT PALMER.Now run along, troll. Don't you have to charge people for crossing a bridge??? That's what I thought. Bobcat Bengal
If there's any real criticism of Palmer it is 2 things.1. He needs to develop more touch. His passes are bullets and he's highly accurate. However, he doesn't seem to be able to arc it very well yet. On the play the Ravens got a personal foul on him, he would've had Chad for a TD if he had some touch on it. Granted he was pressured hard and on the run out of the pocket, but with more time he makes that throw.Besides that play, several of his passes were too high and hot to open receivers.2. He's got to run some. Too many throwaway passes when he could get positive yardage turning upfield. Nobody wants to see him get hurt, but he's one tough SOB and can take it.His judgment was more of a problem today but throwing 52 times is bound to produce some bad plays. The 2 picks by Reed were terrible throws. I don't think he saw Reed on either. Had he lofted the ball deeper on the 1st pick, it would've been TD Chad. The 3rd INT was a nice snag on a high throw by the defender. 1.Yeah, there were a couple of times when the WR's had to leap in the air to make the catch and it ricochets off their fingertips instead. Hard catch, since the problems with the height to begin with, and a very vulnerable place to leave you recievers. They get hung out to dry on those catches, lose/lose.2.Yo, I agree, that man can wheel out....matter of fact, I think he might be as fast as Boller, and definitely more accurate....too bad he didn't hit Chad when he was on the run though, that woulda been money. Bobcat Bengal
Do the words David Klingerand Akili Smith mean anything to you guys?Damn, this is really getting me angry... IT aint got squat to do with the offense....Palmer is fine....I don't know WHAT game you clowns are watching to suggest Kitna should even be on the field....Its the other side of the ball, you know, where the guys tackle the other guys....ARGH....Maybe we can get Terry Tate to play some office MLB for us... Let me add to this, because Terry brings up a great point here.Klingler vs. Akillme vs. Palmer.First of, let me tell you that there are NO SIMILARITIES!!! None whatsoever.History lesson 101:Klingler - A system QB (run N shoot) from The University of Houston. Still has many NCAA records (I do believe). System QBs usually do NOTHING at the NFL Level--see Danny Wuerffel, Charlie Ward, Eric Crotch, etc.Akillme - Made millions off of 10 games at the University of Oregon. A non-studier of the game. Falls asleep during meetings. Late to this first training camp, due to hold-out. A complete MIKE BROWN failure of the furthest degree.Palmer - a 5-year player from USC. Every year at USC, he had a different offensive system (coach). His last year was his best. Drafted by the Bungles as the top pick of the draft. Signed BEFORE TRAINING CAMP (very important towards player development). Sits out an entire year for player development. Has a strong arm--able to throw in heavy traffic. Shows confidence in the pocket. Shows ability to scramble if needed.Needs work on: Picking up the blitz, making sharper decisions at the higher-level, still thinks like he's in college. There you have it folks. Well put Barbarian,I agree, I was in NO way suggesting they were alike, except for that Palmer has had the luxury of being on the sideline to learn. Not to sound corny, or like a Homer but I think dude might be destiny. Since 1970, He was the only other first overall number one pick in the draft that hadn't played. Leftwich started from the jump, and he's not too hot right now. But you know what? Dem Dar JagWarz got defense. I haven't been able to watch their games, but I read the recaps and the way the STUFF the run, so Leftwich isn't forced to throw 52 times in his third game. And I GUAR WON TEE that there is no QB contreversy in Jaxsonville. I dont think Leftwich is any better than Palmer, and he's nowhere as mobile. Big Time Burger Ben (haha, I just made that up!) Got to play in a swamp down in florida. Can't this guy just get some playing time, so you don't stunt his growth like Exhibit A and B?What? What's that? Speak up? ..........................................................That's what I'm sayin' son! What we have here is a severe case of Bengalitis. (n.) Meaning to experience intense uncontrollable bouts of paranoia at the beginning of the season, resulting in a inability to rationalize, and make brash, impulsive, decisions. Also see Mikey Brown Syndrome. The sky ain't falling.Every QB in the game could use more acute decision making, the great ones still do it. Picking up the blitz will also come in time. This kid's gonna be good. :player:
jditty47
oh and another point on this subject is that i think and alot of ppl prolly feel that palmer will be better with the lead to seal games off. Kitna either choked or kept the opponent in a ton of games we had a chance to blow out...im sure palmer will be able to blow some fools out if our defense gets some testicles and actually puts a lickin on someone. ShulaSteakhouse
We just played Baltimore and Miami back-to-back, I think Palmer will learn from it and will feast on lesser defenses later in the year if he doesn't get slaughtered before then.He has to get rid of the ball quicker at times though and that is what kept Kitna dry and clean, injury free - and made him look good. Kitna also had a healthy Warrick to occupy defenses, Dillon AND Rudi, and years of experience. The throws Palmer can make on the run are Elwayesque though and it's hard to overlook his potential. His INT's are purely mental and also the result of not playing within himself as those throws are often just underthrown, or made too late - he makes up for his lack of deciveness with his arm strength and he can't keep doing that so often. Akili really suffered from that hold-onto-the-ball-too-long syndrome, but he never passed for 316 yards against a team like Baltimore either, let alone in his 3rd regular game. And I sure as hell hope Levi's problems are more related to his injury than his ability - I was getting Klingler/Akili flashbacks yesterday watching him sitting on his butt after plays. B24
I've just merged all four Kitna/Palmer topics. Please don't start any more threads on the subject... Agreed. This is the Official Palmer vs Kitna thread. As Josh said in another thread all new threads on the subject before the Pittsburgh game will be closed. This thread is also now pinned to the top of the forum so there is no excuses for not seeing it.
jditty47
this season is gonna be the greatest learning experience in history. Palmer plays 8 of the top 12 defenses this season. Dallas, Washington, Denver, NE, Philly, Baltimore again, tenn, buff, and the giants. That is ridiculous. I gaurantee he will get better, more accurate, faster with his reads, start throwing safer passes, but ultimately putting awesome drives together, and show improvement. If our defense comes along, we have a great shot at the playoffs. Dont give up on em.....

Please say yes. Once again, I promise to be back after the Bengals 5th game to say "I told you so". Marvin done said that he will NOT let this get out of hand if Palmer starts to fail. NEWSFLASHMike brown has WAYYYY to much going for this season to allow a 6-10 or 5-11 finish. If that happens, everything that was worked for last season is for NAUGHT.Trust me guys, Hairy Palmer has been figured out. Defenses now know how to play him. Jesus Christ could come down and suit up and it won't get Palmer back on track. Sunday comes early, watch and see.Kitna in Game 6.
jditty47
i'd lay money on it if i really knew u'd pay up...and that u are full of s**t 90% of the time, id rather not risk it. He'll improve, and once again, u fool, its the defense killing us, not the offense.
