cincykent
If the Bengals plan on making the playoffs they cannot lose this week. The schedule down the stretch is way too tough to start off 1-3. If we can pull off a win this week maybe the team can get healthy over the bye week and start putting it together. The Brew Man
Ya know, I was just thinking that it may be must win time for out boys. Should be interesting to watch Dallas/Wash tonight too since the Bengals get them both later in the season.
skyline
I think this will be a huge litmus test for us. We were beaten by the Jets and Ravens...two good teams. We beat the Dolphins who are absolutely horrid. I think this is our first middle-of-the-road type of game, and how we come out of it may say something about how we'll fare overall... Arizona
I think you guys should be able to win this one. Their QB has no experience at all. You should have the advantage there, especially against their suspect secondary.I also agree that if you manage to lose this game, write off the season. You're toast. schweinhart
Rudi should be able to find more running room on right side vs. Steelers.Even if CP gets hurried as much as he did vs. Ravens, he'll have better success because the Steelers secondary is no where near as good as Ravens.Still, our D is one of the league's worst right now. That's the biggest obstacle for a W.
kybengalsfan
It is really difficult to have an optimism concerning our defense. I believe the last time we got beat by the Steelers we knew going in we had to stop their running game; we did not. Yet, if CP and Rudi can do just a little better, we can keep their offense off the field. That is our only hope, we cannot trust the defense. kevnz
You should have the advantage there, especially against their suspect secondary.I also agree that if you manage to lose this game, write off the season. You're toast. Yeah, the Steelers secondary is nothing compared to the Ravens. Palmer should have a bit of an easier time. But again, it comes down to not what our O can do but what our D does. The Steelers want to run the ball, and the Bengals haven't shown that they can stop the run. But I won't right the season off if they lose. The team was 1-3 last year and still almost made the playoffs. But it'll be bloody hard to bounce back from 1-3 versus 2-2.
Tampa Bengal
Both teams are hurting but I think the Bengals have enough fire power on offense to keep it interesting. If they can stop Duce then they can win, but the way things are going it's gonna to be tough.
BengalBax
Mark my words: This will be the game where Lewis regrets his decision on starting Palmer. We lose, go 1-3 and get in a big divisional hole. I hope to God I am wrong, but as God knows, I am not.
jditty47
as god knows? if god knew what u were saying he'd smack the s**t out of you. We will win this game, chad will get a TD, warrick will get a TD, and rudi will get 100 yards complemented by a big play by perry(i bet he gets a shot). Our defense will suck it up once again and ben gets about 250 along with staley gettin 60 and bettis gettin 50. High scoring game, ill go with 30-28 bengals. Barbarian
I'll say the Bungles' Defensive woes continue--the Bungles give up 65 yards to The Pusswad and 75 to Duce Stale. The middle will be wide open and Bill "Pornostache" Cowher loves to exploit that with the run. The Squeelers will run all day long--ALL DAY LONG.One TD to Chad isn't going to do it either.I'm going to guess:s**ttsburgh 31Bungles
ackley1
What's up w/ Warrick? Will he be good to go next week?

Scottishbengal
Pittsburgh will be full of confidence. Coming off of the win Vs Miami, home field advantage, playing the beat-up leaky D-Bengals who have been bumped down to earth, - they'll be rubbing their hands - they couldn't have picked a better match for this week.Still, every dog has it's day - especially if it's an underdog!Go Bengals! 31-17 to Cincy - and Palmer shuts up the doubters for this week at least. kybengalsfan
Scotty, I love your optimism. I sure as heck hope you are right. How many times have we lost to a team that comes in with a lot of injuries, a bad loss the week before, and then we got our butts kicked because we thought we were going to take advantage of them? Perhaps we can do the same to the Steelers this Sunday.

Hey, optimism is all we got at the moment. And as you say we've had our butts kicked on occassions, perhaps it is time for us to dish it out this week. Fingers crossed. Yes we should win, but it depends on which defense decides to make the trip to the game. The one we threw against you guys Sunday won't be enough I fear in their park! And if we do indeed lose, and go to 1-3, that STILL leaves 12 other games to work with. An admittedly tough 12, I will confess!
TippCityRick
Yes, H U G E week. If we protect CP then Chad and the boys (even without PW cuz I wouldn't count on him Sunday) will have a field day in what passes for a Steelers secondary. We should have better luck against the run, but losing Webster won't help cuz all our backups are rookies. Our D must forget about putting a bunch of pressure on Big Ben and stay in their lanes and tackle. That's what we didn't do Sunday and it is what we must do this Sunday. We must win this game or take a big step back from last year in terns of our record. It will be interesting to see how we fare against a middle of the road team as opposed to the poler opposites we've faced so far.
