HoosierCat
Now this is irony...from bengals.comFontenot played against the uncle of Bengals rookie defensive end Robert Geathers, Jumpy Geathers, the sack master from the inside. Defensive line coach Jay Hayes passed the word and Robert, 21, is waiting for the right time to approach Fontenot. “Hell of a player. He had the ‘Forklift Move,’ which was patented by Jumpy,” Fontenot said. “He would start an up-field rush and whoever was playing over him, the guard or center, he would drive a straight arm up underneath your body and lift you all the way back to the quarterback.”Maybe Jerry can teach it to Robert, since it seems he'll see action Sunday with Powell out...On a similar note, I had to go into NYC today on business, and reading a copy of the NY Daily New a column on NYG WR Tim Carter caught my eye. Among this guy's cousins are:Al Harris (CB, Packers)Timmy Newsome (RB, Cowboys)Carlos Carson (WR, KC)Ozzie Newsome (TE, Cleveland)Darrin Nelson, (RB, Vikings)Dwight Gooden (pitcher, Mets)Gary Sheffield (outfield, Yankees)Man, that family could charge admission to Thanksgiving dinner! Did it give any details on what they classified as cousins? First cousins? That is amazing if that is the case. I would guess they are talking second and third and even fourth cousins. HoosierCat
Nope, just "cousins." You're probably right. Still quite a collection, tho. One correx: it was the NY Post, not the News. Same city, different tabloid...I found the column online if anyone cares:http://www.nypost.com/seven/09222004/sports/giants/30716.htm
