Tampa Bengal Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 I told all you naysayers that Webster was good.I think it helped to have Simmons in there too. If the D keeps it up and the Offense starts clicking this team will be unstoppable. Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 Well he looked good against a pitiful Fins o-line, great game by him, let's see if he can do it somewhat consistently before crowning him the "real deal."The Ravens will be a much tougher opponent. Quote
schweinhart Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 Natester looked great. One blown coverage on Gordon for 20 yd pass was about all he f'd up that I saw.But Fins and Ratbirds O-Line is a night and day difference even w/ Flynn out.Fins O-Line might be even worse than Giants and Skins.Plus Gordon is no Jamal Lewis. But Nate wants to play hard and well. He's up for the challenge.Should be a battle. Quote
Black'n'Orange Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 I was impressed with Nate. Hopefully he can keep that up. We went againt a terrible Dolphin O-line last night, so it remains to be seen. However it is a great confidence builder for this young D, and that is extremely important. Quote

Against THAT RUNNING GAME???The Oompa wasn't going against THE DOPESMOKER (Ricky Williams)--and that's probably a good thing since Williams is a f**king bruiser. The Oompa was going against some scrub named Gordon.25 yards on the ground isn't a game--it's a joke. You can call all of us naysayers out next week, if he stops Mr. Cokehead, Jamal Lewis. Quote
redsfan2 Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 Offense was clicking about as good as it can with a quilt patch Offensive line against a really ... very good defense. ( how many times did we get reminded that they had 7 pro bowlers ??????? Defense is neither as bad as the looked against the Jets or as good as they looked against the Fins. Thing is that they were playing with intensity. I don't know where they got it, but it was definitely there ...... and it was a relief to see it. Last week they looked more like they were in Zombie mode than anything else. Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 Thing is that they were playing with intensity. There's my operative word again! I hope to see it used in all posts regarding the Bengals defense! :player: Quote
Barbarian Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 Thing is that they were playing with intensity. There's my operative word again! I hope to see it used in all posts regarding the Bengals defense! :player: Intensity--YEAH!!! I noticed that too. It was like the Bungles were flying to the ball whereever it went on the defensive side--and the Oompa was always leading the charge.I'll have to admit, that the intensity of the Bungles Defense last night was definitely much, much different as of the "intensities" of the past 13 years. I'll just credit Marvin as this has to be his doing.Nice job of polishing terds so far, Mr. Lewis. Quote
