bengalsfan33
ATMiami at. CincinnatiGame Time: 8:30 ETLocation: Paul Brown StadiumOverview: Both teams are coming off week 1 losses and are hoping to get back on track and get the win so they don't fall in an 0-2 hole. Expect a hard faught game by both teams. This game should be all about the Dolphins defense against the Bengals offense. Bengals have a very weak defense and the Dolphins have a weak offense, so this should be a very low scoring game with a lot defense being played. Bengals are expected to get LB Brian Simmons and CB Deltha O'Neal back for this week's game. Dolphins may be playing without key CB Patrick Surtain, so that leaves Madison guarding Johnson. Let's play some football!Key Matchup-vs.Patrick Surtain and Chad JohnsonSurtain may not be playing in this one but of he does expect to see a lot of Palmer to Warrick since Surtain is one of the best corners in the game. If Surtain doesn't play expect to see Sam Madison guard Johnson. No matter what Palmer will be throwing it too Warrick the most.Key Players to watch for:Miami:A.J Feely- Will Feely be able to take the task and be a quality QB for this weak Fins offense... I don't see him having a good game and expect to see more of Minor and Gordon running the football.Patrick Surtain- They really need him to be able to play this week because will be on Chad Johnson. If he doesn't play than he will not be 100% so we may see Sam Madison on CJ eventually.CincinnatiBrian Simmons- He lead the Bengals in tackles last season, with 102 but the question is, will he be 100% by Sunday to be effective...Bengals really need him to have a big game if they want to pull out the win.Rudi Johnson- Coming off a bad week with only 70 yards on 24 carries will be looking to run his way through the Fins tough defense, which I think he will do. Better watch out Miami!Prediction:Miami-10Cincinnati-17I think that the Bengals will pull this one off, playing good offense and defense. This is where there season will begin with much more wins to come hopefully.Who-Dey!!!

HoosierCat
Second that nice preview comment. FWIW, just to add some spice to your comments regarding Feely, here's a nugget from Miami via ffmastermind.com's quick bits page...-- Dolphins QB by Committee --Thu Sep 16, 2004 --from FFMastermind.com* The Miami Herald reports the Dolphins starting quarterback may be a week-to-week thing. HC Dave Wannstedt may be looking to start QB A.J. Feeley and QB JAy Fiedler depending on the match up. ''We've got to focus and take in each game and make each game a life of its own, a battle of its own that we have to line up with and do whatever we can as a team to try to win this week, that's what we have to do -- at every position,'' Wannstedt has said. But several players, including TE Randy McMichael and WR Derrius Thompson, believe the coach should pick a quarterback and stick with him. McMichael said Wednesday that alternating starters, ''can destroy offensive chemistry.'' Neither Jay Fiedler nor A.J. Feeley is exactly thrilled about the musical quarterbacks situation, either."Ah, the ol' QB by committee...yeah, yeah, that always works, right... Fins fans better hope they beat Cincy -- if they don't I've got a feeling it's going to real ugly real fast in Miami.

If the Bengals drop this game against Miami that by all accounts they should win, it ain't exactly going to be too pretty in Cincy either! If they come along and blow us out, yeah, the team's going to be faced with some big questions. But I don't see that happening. If we lose a close one -- I hope not but you know what they say about "any given Sunday" -- well, we knew going into this season that the Bengals weren't a shoo-in for the playoffs. Our offense had some major question marks (like the starting QB & starting RB!!) and we've talked all offseason about the problems on defense and how they hadn't been solved.Ugly in Cincy? Yeah a loss could do that. But a loss for Miami could easily put their entire season in the grave. They got hammered with all sorts of bad news in the offseason (like "smokin'" Ricky Williams), lost some other key players, had some goofy front office shennagans (how long did Marino have a job?), there have been lots of rumblings that the players don't have much confidence in Wanny, now he's playing musical QBs, which smacks of desperation...nah, a loss here and I could see the Fins doing what Bengals players did for so many years: throw in the towel by week 3. I think the Miami game is very winnable. Especially with some starters returning to the lineup. Having said that, I was fully expecting some learning/growing pains early in the season. Palmer seriously impressed me in the Jets game. Now we'll see how it goes on national TV with the home opener. You can bet the crowd will be going nuts. I will be from my living room in NC. Barbarian
Ok--here's another bad thing about last week--The Jets Defensive line totally sucks!!! So, you would think that Rudi would have done better against a Canadian Football League-like front 7, right???Well, the Dolphins gave up 100 to Brown last week, so hopefully Rudi can make a huge comeback against Jason Taylor & Co. Deja vu all over again from last year. O line looks to be healthier for this game, and I think that Rudis numbers will reflect that. 157 might be a stretch, but he should get the 100 part anyway. Threat of CJ / Palmer will keep the defenses honest .... and hopefully a little off balance. I actually look for the offense to have a better overall game against the Dolphins than they did against the Jets. Defense does just enough to keep the game from slipping away ( and to keep Frazier from being run out of town ) Bengals 27Dolphins 17Re getting ugly real fast ........... semiotter
MIAMI no offense, better than avg. defense. BENGALS should wear down the fish as the game goes on. Look for CARSON to have a good 1st home game.I look for the BENGALS to come out of the shoot fast, and lite up the scoreboard. The FINS are looking at a long night in the queen city tonight boys.
