CP9
Is anyone going to the opening day game in Jersey? I'm the lone Connecticut Bengals fan and I'm headed down with a Jets fan...Just curious.

I'm the lone Connecticut Bengals fan and I'm headed down with a Jets fan...Just curious. I & a couple friends were (a Jets fan & a Bills fan & a Bengals fan, wouldn't that be fun?) but ticket prices are just plain stupid. There are no single-game tickets for Jets game; every seat right up to the nosebleed section is a season ticket seat. And the ticket brokers want $100-plus per for those. There will likely be some cheaper tickets being scalped at the game, there always are, but we found a local hotel with a sports bar attached, so we figured we'd rather apply the money to what's really important (beer) and then stumble upstairs and pass out around 10. HoosierCat
Ahhh, I didn't get my hopes up to begin with. I figured between it being opeing day and an apparent surplus of Bengals fans in the area -- I was at the Bengals/Jets preseason tilt last year and there were a ton of black-and-orange jerseys in the crowd -- that tickets would be Big Buck$.Honestly, the only thing I'll miss is tailgating with the Jets fans. I've been to a couple games, and found them to be a pretty good crowd. They never give me crap for wearing Bengals colors; as fans of a team thats had it's own long streaks of suckiness, they appreciate fellow sufferers, I suppose. It's amazing how different it is tailgating at a Giants game. I've never seen such a concentration of a-holes in my life...

Amen brother!! Although, not sure if you are a hockey fan or not. Living in NJ you are probably a Devils fan so you have to know that Flyers fans are right up there, or surpassing, Giants fans. Maybe you can just attribute that to them being from Philly, but still...a large concentration of A-holes right there.

Never got into hockey up here, though as a kid I had some old Cincinnati Swords merchandise, and have vague recollections of seeing their successors, the Stingers, once or twice. I'll keep your advice about Flyers fans in mind, as I may take in a few Devils games once they get the new arena in Newark (which would be about 15 mins. from my house) built.
