Every chance to win in OT? You have an interesting definition of "losing a fumble" there, Shula. But you want some facts and numbers? Well click that link I posted earlier. You know that D you were blaming? They held Denver to 17 points in regulation. That marks only the third time in the history of the team that a Bengals defense held the opposition to 17 or fewer points in prime time and lost. So your hero joins the ranks of HOWDY DOODY and Ken Anderson in that club, congrats!
Stripes
McCarron was fabulous for the first two drives, as was the entire offense. After that they all took a dirt nap. I have no idea why people here are willing to assume Dalton would have "choked" the game away and performed worse than McCarron, who for 4+ quarters amounted to just decent. It wasn't long ago when Dalton went on the road against another top flight defense and put up 31 points, also in a prime time game. Frankly I would say that anyone who feels that this team is better off right now with AJ McCarron playing in the most important games than a healthy Andy Dalton is either lying to themselves or on some of the best crack in town. I will add a third and more probable reason, they are too arrogant to ever admit that they were wrong. Period. Case closed!!!!
ArmyBengal
Dang guys. Look, Dalton has had a great year this year and the team is clearly better off at the moment with him under center. That being said, AJ has done well in his two starts and I liked what he did against Denver. I don't blame him for what appeared to be little movement in the game plan on the part of the coaches. I also don't blame him for the D getting stupid tired in the second half or the lack of blocking by the o-line. Most expected a loss in that game and even if he didn't lose the last snap, they would have been in a tough yardage situation. It is what it is. This team still finds itself hosting a wild card game at the very worst and still a possible first round bye with a loss by the Broncos. I know fans like to complain from time to time, it's what we do. However, I'm still pretty stoked about going to the Ravens game and getting back to the playoffs. Hoping to see them win one this season. Yes, I still have hope they can actually do that.
