volcom69
With the AFC North as it is and the whole AFC in general the playoffs this year are really going to be hard to get. Unless some of these teams start losing 10-6 or 9-7 might not make the playoff. So bengals best bet is to win the division, which is going to be tough with the remaining schedule, and how easy some of the other teams are. Win, one game at a time, don't look ahead. They seem to have the penalties under control, so I say their biggest fix (nemesis) right now is tackling and turnovers! Earendil
Well, all the AFC leaders have 2 losses, except for the Colts have 3.As bad as they have looked at times, and as banged up ad they are, the Bengals are fortunate to finish the first half 5-2-1.If they want to continue to control their own destiny they will come hungry Thursday night! Also, every one of the top teams in the AFC has at least one completely embarrassing loss. This has been a very weird season so far.
HoosierCat
I hate to say it, but Big Jen has looked all-world the last couple games. As long as he's playing at that level the Steelers will be almost impossible to beat. But that's the thing: he's on a hot streak now but it's unlikely to last. And we don't play them until way late in the season, which is looking more and more like a good thing. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near that team right now.The Ravens look like the Browns...and the Bengals: three mostly average teams with a few elite parts here and there that are capable of competing with just about anyone -- but who can also be bombed into submission on any given week.Something tells me it's going to be a long second half of the season. ArmyBengal
The Steelers thing is Ben is always hard to bring down and he extends plays all the freakin' time. The difference I see this season is that regardless of the o-line still having issues, Ben actually has WR's to throw to.If they continue to play good defense, they will certainly be a challenge the rest of the way.Crazy? A week ago, the Ravens game could have sent the Bengals to the basement and put them in control of the north. This week? They are sitting in the basement with a 2-3 division record.Things can change quick from week to week unless you are in the NFC South where the Saints 2 game win streak has them at 4-4 and a division lead. The Bengals just need to focus one week at a time and worry about the Steelers when the time comes.
