HoosierCat
Hell even build that practice bubble in the shape of a huge penis with a sign that reads:"2014 Cincinnati Bengals. SUCK IT"I second this motion.
cincyhokie
I like the penis idea (probably the only time in my life I'll type that). Seriously, though, what if Zimmer leaves and takes his coaching staff from the current staff? Ouch.
Passepartout
It is about being clutch in the long run. As Marvin can win regular season games. But seems to choke at the playoffs. As needs to come in really clutch and take chances a times.
kingwilly
Made mention a while back about if Zimmer goes that whatever team it is becomes a front runner to land Michael Johnson.Zimmer loves MJ and has made many comments about him in interviews.Yet another comment about Marvin being done coaching so Zimmer can take over as head coach.Again, I can't say as I would hate that move in any way, but it's just something being pulled out of the air.Not happening. Why not just cut Dalton and trade all our picks for the #1 spot ??We could draft Bridgewater and then make moves for all the best players in free agency. After that maybe we could get all the best coaches to come here and solve the problem.Hell even build that practice bubble in the shape of a huge penis with a sign that reads:"2014 Cincinnati Bengals. SUCK IT"The strength of this team has been defense, since Zimmer has arrived. If anyone might leave I hope it's not him.Should he leave, he seems the type that guys might move on with. Like you mention, MJ and maybe any one else cut in a subsequent player purge. I suggested very early in the stark cold empty void after the loss Sunday that if its clear Dalton is the problem, and a replacement could push the team over the top, then it would be 100% worth it to trade most of day one and two for the #1 pick. $ wise it's not like before the rookie scale, when each year was a new level of insanity. I also think there is enough core and depth to withstand a one time side track from the front end of a draft so they can get that one special guy. Of course, it's not going to happen. So while your sarcasm is cute, and pretty funny, crazier things do occur from time to time in this nutty league. Look at the picks given up to get RG3, or to get Julio Jones.... This team is better than either of those, at that time.I fully support the penis bubble. I dub 2014 the Year of the Penis Bubble.
Kazkal
we know he has one more year left but IMO one playoff win is not enough next year in 2014 only afc championship will be acceptable and it better be close

Well, to cut to the chase, who cares? First, Zimmer: I have been told since Sunday that the regular season doesn't matter. That going 11-5 is meaningless without a playoff win. That 2013 was a failure and that wholesale changes need to be made because this team can't win in January. Well, if that's the case, then Zimmer needs to go, too. His defenses may do well in the regular season, but in three playoff games the haven't done squat. Combined they have managed about 4 sacks and a single turnover while allowing more than 70 points. I don't thin they have held one opponent under 100 yards rushing and Sunday the Chargers were pushing 200 on the ground. As for MJ, he got $11 million last year for 3.5 sacks. When Justin Smith was franchised and produced 2 sacks people couldn't wait to run him out of town. Sacks aren't everything, but that strongly suggests that his performance the year before had more to do with Atkins than himself, and that once we get Geno back Hunt or a draft pick could do at least as well. After MJ, who else are we worried will leave? All our top defenders are under contract for multiple years.

If the team felt it was in their best interest to make a move to get a top end QB, I would go along.I would still question the move, because there is no guarantee with that, but you could say at least they are trying I suppose. The rookie wage scale certainly makes move like that more feasible. I think it would cost us multiple first rounders though.Sarcasm. Sometimes good, sometimes not. I'll take the "cute" comment though as I rarely mean any harm in my posts here.It should be a huge penis bubble though. Something that can be seen when planes fly in and out of CVG.The "SUCK IT" sign should be neon.
