skyline Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 How awesome has this guy been for us?If you haven't seen his post-game interview, do yourselves a favor and go watch. He gets teary-eyed talking about the chance he's been given here. You see how much it means to him:http://www.nfl.com/videos/cincinnati-bengals/0ap2000000248740/Bengals-postgame-press-conference Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 Honestly, I wasn't at all sold on him joining the Bengals, but boy has he made the most of his opportunity.I know Zimmer always thought the world of him and apparently, that feeling is mutual.Newman has been everything and more in regards to what you would expect from a vet signing. This team would be hurting without him and not just because of yesterdays play. HoosierCat Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 Yeah, he's done pretty good for an old washed-up dude. Quote
Stripes Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 I complained when he was signed. I am a clueless fan who talks nonsense on a message board all day. :sure:/> He's been awesome. I am very comfortable with Hall and Newman as our starting corners. Jones has been great too in most opportunities. Quote
101Airborne Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 For a guy that was supposed to come in and be that decent vet. signing that fills a depth chart, he's done some great stuff for us. And thank God for that given that Kirkpatrick seems to be made out of glass. Quote
skyline Posted October 7, 2013 Author Report Posted October 7, 2013 Another nod to the excellent play of Newman. His pass breakup on the long pass to Dobson late in the game today was textbook. Really amazing, rock-solid defense. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted October 7, 2013 Report Posted October 7, 2013 Yes, great play on his part.Like I said, I didn't like the signing at first, but i'm glad it has worked out the way it has.He has more than solidified our secondary and we would be hurting right now without him. Quote
