HoosierCat
The players would no doubt be registered off-shore and so tax on income would be at the rate where they were registered for tax - a lot of the Premier League soccer players do it that way to avoid paying silly high rates of tax.Yup. I'm sure Whit has a very good accountant, because its hardly a light touch at his salary on this side of the pond. Whit is scheduled to make $4.55 million in 2013. All but $400,000 will be subject to the top US marginal rate, 39.6% and all but $204,000 to the top Ohio marginal rate, 5.96%. There is also combined state and local sales taxes in the Cincy area of around 6.5%. And then there are other nibbles, like the social security tax he'll pay on the first 75k, and whatever his health insurance premiums are, and all the various taxes-by-fee ( like the cost of renewing your drivers license or license plates) we get nicked and dimed by.On top of that, he'll be paying taxes to every state he played a game in, though there will likely be offsetting credits in Ohio.
