I can never resist reading lists of preseason rankings, but they're always ridiculous. I would have to think that if you look back at the last 5-10 years, the Bengals are probably the least-well-predicted team in the league (both positively and negatively) in these rankings. Seriously, it must be incredibly frustrating for anybody - casual fan to expert - to try to figure out what this team is going to do in any particular year.

Yea preseason rankings are jokes, how about they wait to see how training camp and actual preseason games go. Hell even then nobody knows whats going to happen, it just gives the media and us fans something to discuss and scream over.

Any preseason poll (regardless of how useless they may be) that doesn't have the Bengals in the upper half of the league is a beyond useless.

They might not be a top 5 team in the league, but c'mon.

People point to the fact they haven't had back to back winning seasons or playoff appearances in forever and make the determination that the Bengals won't do as well in 2012. I think that is just silly rationale. IF the Bengals don't do as well in 2012, it will be due to many other things than simply not having back to back winning seasons in forever. Just pointless.
