2-1 Reds going into the 4th. Bailey is pitching very well so far.

Votto and Phillips aren't doing too shabby with the lumber either. I couldn't believe they waved Hiesley around third on Joey's double!

Whew. Bailey barely escapes a dangerous 8th. Still 2-2.

Yeah, I thought the game was done as soon as I saw Bailey going back in.

Somewhat shocking win after that point, but it sure is nice to see. Congrats to Homer. And well done, Rolen. Here's hoping he gets his bat turned around.

Noteworthy:

This is the third separate time the Reds have had a six game winning streak this season.

And it's the 1st time they've been 12 games over .500.

Ditto on being surprised Bailey was staying in the game. I thought for sure he was going to get yanked.

To finish off the inning the way he did was awesome. Good for Homer indeed.

Nice to start the second half with a sweep of the Cardinals and be back in first place !!!

Might as well just bump this thread... keep the sweeping the Cardinals luck alive.

A nice sweep here would put the Cardinals 10 games back of the Reds with only 33 games left in the season. That would be pretty insurmountable.

Side note: As of this morning, the Reds magic number is 31. Too early for that?

Never to early for that kind of talk, because many didn't think at the beginning of the season we would be talking about the Reds magic number. Maybe a wildcard, but not looking at the NL Central title. Yeah, i'm happy.

Oh yeah, good bump in my book !!!

Latos, Leake, and Bailey go for the Reds in this series.

NOTE: Tonight's game is broadcast on MLB Network for everyone to watch !!!

With the Reds leading 4-1, that seems like you had an excellent Idea!

I mentioned the same thing to my wife tonight about last nights game Billy, so i'm right there with you.

If we win tomorrow night, I will still be happy though. A series win against the Cards is nothing to sneeze at.
