Per another report he was hanging with Green in coverage. Comeback player of the year? In Zim's system, not out of the question. Quote
DC_Bengals_Fan Posted June 5, 2012 Report Posted June 5, 2012 Of course, since the second string safeties probably couldn't start for Alabama, this ain't saying much. I wouldn't be surprised to see another waiver wire starter come September. Shades of Ohalete. Quote
Stripes Posted June 5, 2012 Report Posted June 5, 2012 Ohalete might as well be Voldemort. Seeing his name just makes me shudder.I have more confidence in Mays than that, at least. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted June 5, 2012 Report Posted June 5, 2012 I have far more confidence in Mays than some of the others. Why ?? Zimmer. If anyone gets him to realize that potential, it's him.Look at all the comparisons to Roy Williams that Mays gets. How many pro-bowls to Roy Williams go under Zimmer ?? 5 ??Anyway around, something like that. While I could see it going poorly, i'm not going full doom and gloom quite yet either. DC_Bengals_Fan Posted June 6, 2012 Report Posted June 6, 2012 Certainly let's hope for the best...but S has got to be the weakest position on the team by far, and that's with everybody at full strength. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted June 6, 2012 Report Posted June 6, 2012 Certainly let's hope for the best...but S has got to be the weakest position on the team by far, and that's with everybody at full strength.I won't argue with it being our biggest weakness.LB worries me a bit, but the starters are pretty much set. The concern there is depth. We have a bunch of options I think will work out, but WR is a bit of an unknown as well. Quote
derekshank Posted June 7, 2012 Report Posted June 7, 2012 The depth at OLB is certainly a concern. I like Thomas Howard and Manny Lawson a lot... but Moch is reportedly struggling, and Vincent Rey is a special teamer. Hopefully Muckelroy comes back healthy and can be a viable back-up for all 3 LB spots.I do expect Maualuga to have a breakout year this year. This is his first off-season where he can get coaching specifically to play MLB, and he started the season out well last year before his ankle injury that had a dramatic impact on his play. Throw in the potential that Burfict brings to the table, and MLB seems like it could be a strength of the LB roster. Quote
cHaD711Johnson Posted June 8, 2012 Report Posted June 8, 2012 Sounds like Micah Johnson looks good too. He has to have a lot of talent he was a HS AA. Great size too. Quote

Per another report he was hanging with Green in coverage. Comeback player of the year? In Zim's system, not out of the question.I've always liked Taylor Mays, and I REALLY want to see him succeed.......If the CB's play well....I can see him having a good season. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted June 8, 2012 Report Posted June 8, 2012 EVERYONE should be rooting for Taylor Mays, because I really don't have much faith in anyone else on the roster being much more than depth. It would appear they are going to live or die by what Mays brings this season. Quote
