jjakq27
Dave Lapham was on the Lance McAlister show last night and said he thought that Madieu Williams is the real deal. He said he expects that at some point he will be the nickel back and made it sound like he could challenge for some starting time at safety too. HoosierCat
Excellent article on Williams & Herring on Bengals.com now. A better-than-average Hobson effort. Very insightful stuff on the benefits Herring brings as a vet; hopefully it isn't a load of BS. Also a HUGE, HUGE slap at Ratliff & his agent in the comments about MW:Williams is the rookie who has the most impact here, a safety actually bidding to get on the field right away as the slot cornerback on passing downs......So. What is Williams? A corner? Or safety? Secondary coach Kevin Coyle smiled. “We’ll see.”......But Williams also leaves the safeties to play slot corner on passing downs. Second-year corner Terrell Roberts is also getting those slot snaps, and Williams joins Roberts and the other corners for one-on-one drills when the rest of the defense is going through nine-on-seven... ...Suddenly, the name of second-round holdout Keiwan Ratliff isn’t mentioned very much as a candidate to play the slot corner. “If there are three guys going for the job,” Lewis said, “the guy who isn’t here must be third.”...No pressure, right Keiwan?... jjakq27
Big Dave was also really pumped up about the play of Deltha O'Neill and kept calling him "Stealtha".Maybe all of the folks worried about Palmer first few practices should consider that maybe it's because of O'Neill's great play not some deficiency in Palmer's game. bengalsfan33
This kid sounds like he is going to be a great NFL player. I cannot wait until Monday to see some of the Bengals rookies.
Jam31
Herring is one of our cast-offs so I really wouldn't expect too much out of him.But then again maybe our standards are too high

WhoDeyNow
Your standards are high? Really? Even when drug users and convicts fill your roster? That's pretty impressive than.

Jam31
You guys need to get over yourselves and madieu williamsIm sorry but we are spoiled rotten with talent down here and I can't help but about itI know you don't want to hear about it but it's the honest truth. My Ravens are set (offensive warts and all) and that second ring is our thing. Sox
Apparently only Ravens fans are allowed to show optimism about their players. The difference is Bengals fans show optimism about Bengals rookies actual play on the field, whereas Ravens fans show optimism that their star players don't wind up in prison. wookie
I do believe that Herring was signed as a FA to the Rams who wanted to improve their Defense in order to win another title...and they went and signed Herring because he is a really good safety. Castoffs don't usually have to be replaced by a Draft pick like Ed Reed...seems if you are going to cast a player off your team then you should already have someone behind him who is better.I'm glad to have him, he'll really do a lot to improve our secondary. redsfan2
Herring is one of our cast-offs so I really wouldn't expect too much out of him.But then again maybe our standards are too high He was the only one of your players that was allowed to leave the state, so our choices were pretty limited. Has everybody been let out to attend training camp ???? or are they just doing it in the exercise yard ???? They'd definitely have fewer people to move that way. Why should we? This IS a Bengals site. It's dedicated to the Bengals and their fans. We can wet our pants over Williams as much as we want. Who are you to judge us? You're simply a Ravens fan on a Bengals board talking arrogant smack.

Also, our defense will finish within eight spots of your's.Your defense is very good, it is true. You aren't more talented on all sides of the ball. And you won't win the division this year. I know, I know, it is a bitter pill to swallow, but swallowing is something with which you all need to be more accustomed.WHO DEY!
