HoosierCat
I ran across a note a couple weeks back that the Bengals, Vikings and Dolphins were all interested in taking a look at Edmonton RB Jerome Messam. Messam had been recovering from a knee injury and all the teams wanted to work him out after he got healthy. There are reports out today that he signed with the Dolphins, though his camp is saying there's no deal finalized yet (hint hint Bengals and Vikes, show us the money!)I wasn't too keen on Messam because of his off-field issues so this may end up filed under "bullet dodged." ArmyBengal
Would rather us just take one in the draft to add to Dalton and Green.

Milt Stegall left the Bengals and went on to become a CFL legend. So don't knock the CFL too hard.

Now we aren't talking about Stars, but Jeanty was serviceable for a few years before getting injured, Hebert was a good special teamer, and Hawkins made an impact last year in his short time with the team andis hoping for an expanded role next year. So yeah, they aren't stars, but they did make an NFL roster.
HoosierCat
Apparently the Miami deal doesn't include a signing bonus, which may be why Messam is balking. He only has until Thursday to sign or he loses his ability to sign with an NFL club for the year.
ArmyBengal
I know nothing about this guy. Never heard his name mentioned ever.Is there a reason this guy is being looked at and would keep a team like ours from going RB at some point in the first 3 rounds ??Don't give me some crap about him being solid against the Saskatoon Buttrangers either... Never heard his name mentioned ever.Is there a reason this guy is being looked at and would keep a team like ours from going RB at some point in the first 3 rounds ??Don't give me some crap about him being solid against the Saskatoon Buttrangers either...He's a big guy like 6'2" and like 230+ pounds with 4.4-4.5 speed and was the first back in almost 10 years to rush for 1,000 yards in a season.I actually looked it up and he is 6'3" 245 lbs and was the first non-import (i.e. non-US guy) to rush for 1,000 yards in 11 years. You might want to check it out.I read on the inter-web that if you Google the word Google you win a million dollars. I haven't tried it yet because I am scared it creates a hole in the space time continuum and the world might end. I know it's going to end in December, but I don't want it to be my fault. ArmyBengal
I hate this thread, then again, I could always just stop reading and responding, but that's no fun...Sure I could just Google him, but my point was, I NEVER heard of this guy. EVER, ANYWHERE...Ok, so I took a break mid post to Google him and came away even less impressed. I also figured out why I never heard of him.He went to the football powerhouse, North Dakota State College of Science and undrafted in the CFL draft. In trying to find any upside, he's a very big dude that runs really fast for his size. They need to stop wasting their time on the physical freaks (see Stacy Andrews, Michael Johnson) and get some guys that can come in and contribute right away.
