cincyhokie Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 3-0 Houston going into the third. Arroyo is just plain done.Dusty will leave him in there until he allows at least 6 or 7 runs. Remember, you can't upset a guy or ruin his confidence. Bronson Arroyo was the #2 guy out of the AS break. He deserves to get a chance to go the distance. (insert sarcasm) Quote
Stripes Posted August 2, 2011 Author Report Posted August 2, 2011 3-3 now. Thankfully the Astros lineup isn't quite the terror that almost any other lineup could be with Arroyo pitching. Quote
cincyhokie Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 3-3 now. Thankfully the Astros lineup isn't quite the terror that almost any other lineup could be with Arroyo pitching.True. Reds need to not get back into the habit of leaving RISP. This should be a 3 or 4 run lead. They really need to go 6-0 or at least 5-1 against the Astros and Cubs and 12-4 or 13-3 in the next 16. Stripes Posted August 2, 2011 Author Report Posted August 2, 2011 Dusty tempts fate again keeping Arroyo in for the 8th, though his pitch count is relatively low.I agree hokie, the August schedule should be cake if this team is at all decent. Quote
Stripes Posted August 2, 2011 Author Report Posted August 2, 2011 Arroyo got through it. As much as he's sucked this season, he has pitched well today. If the Reds don't find a way to win this game against the worst team in baseball, the head-bashing-into-wall emoticons will rain freely from my mouse clicker. Quote

cincyhokie Posted August 2, 2011 Report Posted August 2, 2011 Lack of focus and concentration when the game is on the line. They take on the persona of their manager. Too many RISP...again. Quote
Stripes Posted August 3, 2011 Author Report Posted August 3, 2011 Reds up 5-0 in the 5th after a grand slam by Renteria. Bailey has given up two hits thus far. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 This team baffles the sh*t out of me. Quote
Stripes Posted August 4, 2011 Author Report Posted August 4, 2011 Agreed. Now they've managed two hits in four innings against the mighty "Jordan Lyles", both by Votto. Quote
cincyhokie Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 Agreed. Now they've managed two hits in four innings against the mighty "Jordan Lyles", both by Votto. The 4th inning was a perfect example of what's been wrong with this team this year. Votto doubles to lead off the inning and Phillips comes up only to hack away for his at bat. Forget it's a 2 run game and all he has to do is advance the runner. No. no. It's better to go up and continually swing for the fences instead of advance the runner. Pathetic mediocre half-ass baseball. Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 The Reds tied the game up at 2. The first run coming from a HR from some dude named Todd Frazier. (Never heard of him) The second from the combo of Phillips who singled in Votto. With the Brewers winning tonight the Reds have to keep pace. Quote
Stripes Posted August 4, 2011 Author Report Posted August 4, 2011 Dontrelle Willis just made the baseball his bitch. 3-2 after his homer. Quote
Stripes Posted August 4, 2011 Author Report Posted August 4, 2011 Now Masset is trying very hard to screw it up. Quote
