HoosierCat Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 Looks like Hobson took a boot in the keister from management again . Earlier today -- 12:15 IIRC -- he posted a story about the first six home games being "virtually" sold out and noted that meant they would be televised locally as a result.Ooops! Come 2:10, that story vanishes, without notice, and a new one is put in its place. This one emphasizes that while single-seat tickets are sold out for those games, season tickets remain, and replaces the certainty that the games will be televised with "all signs point to" them being on the tube. WHO DEY AGAIN? Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 That's funny. I know it won't happen but let's say they don't sell out those games. I think they have to show them locally. It was on the Bengals website and written by a Bengals employee. Maybe I should give Stan a call and see what he thinks. Quote
Super Cat Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 The games should be televised. Holding out season ticket to stop sell out is wrong. Quote
bengalsfan33 Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 Super Cat i like the signature. I saw this story earlier, I guess he made a huge mistake. Quote
HoosierCat Posted July 27, 2004 Author Report Posted July 27, 2004 I don't think Hobson made any mistake. Given the way tickets, season and single-game, have been selling, I'm sure they're across the "sellout" threshhold. But I'm sure Mikey went apes*it and yelled at Hobson since, if they're on TV, that might discourage the sales of the (expensive) remaining season tickets. Thus the hedging. Quote

HoosierCat Posted July 27, 2004 Author Report Posted July 27, 2004 And as of 5:45 take THREE of the tickets/sellout story is up on the site!!! This time, all references to local TV have been completely removed! But in compensation, Mike Brown actually SPEAKS! Oh, this is a doozy:“We’re coming back now. This is a bigger stadium. It seats over 65,000 people, and if we win, it’s going to be like the old days at Riverfront. To my eye, that’s a beautiful thing."ROTFLMAO! Wasn't someone here looking for songs to play at Bengals' tailgates? I would say, don't forget to add Mikey's favorite, "We're in the Money" to your selections! Quote
