ArmyBengal Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 It's the first series of the season with the Cardinals and the Reds need to come out playing some good ball.Hopefully the pitching doesn't give up more runs in the 1st.GO REDS !!! Quote
ArmyBengal Posted April 22, 2011 Author Report Posted April 22, 2011 Oh yeah, for those not in Cincinnati and not able to watch most of the games, Sunday's game is the Sunday Night Baseball game on ESPN. Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Two teams tied for 1st place battling it out. I doesn't get any better than this! Too bad the game is delayed though... Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Looks like they're going to have to reschedule this game. Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 The game resumed, and the Reds resumed to playing from behind after the 1st inning. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted April 23, 2011 Author Report Posted April 23, 2011 It's been a long time since i've seen such undisciplined playing by the Reds.10 hits and five walks earned and only two runs to show for it.They get the leadoff hitter on base in 5 of the 9 innnings and only two runs to show for it.Lapses in running the bases.Leaving a buttload of runners on the bags.Oh yeah, Jay Bruce needs to WAKE THE F*CK UP !!!He's straight pissing me off with his poor play.Forget wire to wire. Not that I was thinking that would happen. Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 The Reds may have a bit of a problem getting out of St. Louis with the airport all mucked up from a tornado. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted April 23, 2011 Author Report Posted April 23, 2011 Maybe that will allow them more time to look around for where they left their motivation last night. Quote
cincyhokie Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Maybe that will allow them more time to look around for where they left their motivation last night.Nope still haven't found it. 2-0 Cardinals. Carpenter leads off the 3rd with a double and scores.Wow. All the tweets and talk and then get on the field and lay down. Good plan. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted April 23, 2011 Author Report Posted April 23, 2011 Votto hits a dinger to tie it up at 2 in the bottom of the 5ht and Pujols follows with a shot in the top of the 6th.3-2 Cards... Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 5-3 Reds, and here comes Cordero. Hang on to your hats boys! Quote
semiotter Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Sweet I can't gÉt the game. Come on Reds Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Holy crap! A 1-2-3 inning from Cordero! Reds back in 1st! Quote
ArmyBengal Posted April 24, 2011 Author Report Posted April 24, 2011 Nice to see them get a good win on the road.I want to punch Jay Bruce in the face. Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 Forget wire to wire. Not that I was thinking that would happen.Wire to wire is a once in a lifetime thing. I'm just glad we're in the mix. Quote
Stripes Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 Way to steal the win, Reds. It'd be great to take this series. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted April 24, 2011 Author Report Posted April 24, 2011 They haven't announced tonights starter yet and it could be Volquez, so hold onto your hats. The national television audience could get a show in the 1st inning... Quote
Stripes Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 0-0 in the secondVolquez only gave up a single to Pujols in the 1st inning. Now let's kick Westbrook's ass. Quote
cincyhokie Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 The pitching looks to be coming around a bit. The Cardinals are a good hitting team and the Reds pitchers have done a good job at keeping them in games. The hitting will come around and this team will go on a streak. I just wonder if Bruce and Gomes need some time off and a lineup change is made sometime soon. This is good, solid young team. They're going to be in the race all year and for years to come.I just hate losing to the Cardinals. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted April 25, 2011 Author Report Posted April 25, 2011 You and me both Hokie. I can't stand the Cardinals.I said it heading into this season and I will say it again. While I believe this is a solid team, they can't have a repeat of last year where they couldn't beat teams like the Cardinals in the hopes the Cardinals get waxed by lesser opponents. It's just not going to happen that way again and they need to step it up.3-0...Ugh... Quote
