ArmyBengal
Well it's finally opening day weekend and it's time for some baseball. The Reds first opponent of the season is the Brewers and Volquez has the mound for the opener.I'm glad Harang is gone and we don't have another season of that to deal with.I'm hoping for good things this season, but will keep it tempered as opposed to claiming we are sure to repeat.GO REDS !!! ArmyBengal
Volquez is getting rocked in the 1st giving up dingers to the first two batters and now has runners on the corners with no outs.
cincyhokie
Volquez shouldn't have been starting this game. Got a late start in spring training. Can't find his already normally bad control. It is what it is. By the end of the year Travis Wood will be this team's #1 starter.
ArmyBengal
Votto almost went deep, but ended up with the sacrifice fly RBI.4-1 Brewers.
Sea Ray
We've had some awfully rotten Opening Day starts of late, haven't we?
cincyhokie
We've had some awfully rotten Opening Day starts of late, haven't we?2-6 since GABP opened. I think I might have gone to the last win. 6-5 win against the Mets on a Joe Randa walk-off HR. 72 degrees and sunny that day.
ArmyBengal
Volquez gave up his 3rd homer of the day and he is still in at the top of the 6th.5-2 Brewers.
cincyhokie
Looks like 2-7 for Opening Days at GABP.

cincyhokie
Is that a cool way to start the year or what?It felt like they were sleepwalking all day. Even in the 9th it didn't FEEL like they had a chance. Then. Boom!Hell of a win!
ArmyBengal
The Reds continue their ways from last season in winning games in their last at bat.I saw a stat that showed they were #2 in the league with come from behind wins last year.I'm glad that trend continued today.Hernandez had a hell of a day today !!! BengalszoneBilly
Awesome way to kick off the season, Redstockings. Kind of looks the same way the team met Bruce at the plate when his late inning homer clinched the pennant last year doesn't it?
redsbengalsbucks
They didnt play well and still end of pulling it out in the 9th. Here's to hoping that isnt the highlight of the season. This is REDS country!!
ArmyBengal
Volquez is obviously still having issues and the rest of the team didn't look real motivated for most of the game.Every here and there you saw a spark, but they just didn't seem very pumped up for the game. They got it done when it mattered most though and it was fun to watch. It's been a long time since i've been able to watch an opening day game.Nice way to get back into the swing of things.
