jonahdsage
Haven't marvin and zimmer BOTH said that JJoe said he wants to stay in cincy? I have to imagine he wants to get the deal done too and I doubt one side is at 14 mil/year and the other is at 3. They have to be in the ballpark. I don't know enough about this whole process but, assuming he has already agreed to a new contract, is there any incentive for them to wait until the 3rd or 4th to announce him resigning as opposed to announcing it today or tomorrow? BengalPimp
C'mon, we knew the Bengals weren't going to give him big money anyways, and there's no way in hell that I would give an injury prone CB $10 Million + a season....That's just stupid. As for the Raiders, well, they're idiots and panicked once Nnamdi Asomugha was able to void the last year of his deal and become a free-agent. They didnt want to lose both CB's so they overpaid Routt.I've already come to the conclusion JJoe is gone. They can't Franchise him because if they do, and he signs his 1-year tender, next year, he will be a free agent again, at the same time as Hall. Then you're REALLY F*CKED
Trevor
I think we can afford Jjoe when we don't have to pay carson... Ced too,..

Whur CHad At?
Is jjoe worth a huge contract? The guy has done nothing to prove he is worthy of a huge contract. Add on the injuries he is just a really good CB but nothing special. We should try to keep him if the price right and it has to ibe right. Leon Hall is a much better CB IMO but like Joseph he hasnt earned $10 mill a year
ArmyBengal
I like JJoe a lot and want him here, but no, with the injuries he isn't worthy of a top money contract. He is worth close to that though. I still say they should have tagged him for the season, giving them a chance to continue working it.Now that time has passed and I can't see (even though JJoe says he wants to stay) why he wouldn't see what's out there to be had. Some team will throw a ton more money at him than what the Bengals are willing to pay. Kazkal
Worth top 5 no? Top 10? I'd say Yes because the fact he was allowed to hit free angecy instead of extending him early. We should have atleast put the transition tag on him IMO,Even if you didn't plan on resigning him long term it gives you one more year to see if Trent,Ghee or Pacman can step up and replace him and then before seasons end you pay Hall or have end up tagging him next year. HoosierCat
Bengals use RFA tenders on JJoe, Livings, B. Johnson./>http://cincinnati.com/blogs/bengals/2011/03/02/joseph-gets-tendered/
jonahdsage
I don't understand this move. Doesn't all of that stuff become negligible Friday? If a team couldn't trade for JJoe before Friday, and all of these agreements expire on Friday (Assuming a new CBA), why do this?
HoosierCat
Beats me. I suppose because it doesn't actually cost them anything and who knows what the new CBA will say. What is interesting to me is that they tendered Livings but not Cook.
