has its pros and cons. If u are looking for a game that has an awesome look and feel, this is the game. It has huge highlights, sportcenter highlights, a ton of in game stats and awesome visuals. But it ends there.

The gameplay is HORRIBLE. seriously its f**king bad. In my fourth game, on the pro level, yes thats low but still...i beat the steelers 51-0. THAT IS PATHETIC. NO GAME, especially in my 4th game ever, should i blow someone out by that score. i am avg'ing like 250 yrds rushing and like 300 passing. its seriously sad. In madden i would never blow the computer out like that in my 4th game ever, even on pro...and there is no way i woudl shut out the computer.

I only got it cuz im bored and 20 bucks aint anything really....but now i cant wait for madden. The only thing i wish madden would take from espn is the amazing stat updates in game and the post game sportscenter highlight show.

The only real complaints I have so far with the game is the animation of Chris B and Suzi K. Chris doesn't really say anything team specific when he's onscreen so they could have used actual video of him.

As for the all-pro level, you should move up a level or two for a challenge. Also if you haven't blown a team out in even the higher levels you aren't calling the right plays. I'm not the greatest at running the ball on Madden, but I can pass for 400-500 yards a game even in the higher levels. Even with Shane Graham. This year may be different, but that's the way it was last year.

You try and play one of the celebs on ESPN? They are pretty tough.

ESPN's got a few things that I don't like or that annoy me, but all in all it's a great game.

You know this is an endless and pointless arguement. If you're a diehard Madden fan, you will never see the light and realize ESPN is the better game. And if you're a diehard ESPN fan, you are always going to know that ESPN is superior in every aspect of the game. :P

THAT will surely put this argument to rest ;)

i am open to new things thats why i bought it...but i gaurantee i wont be playing it after madden comes out.

So i did what your theory stated, i turned up the difficulty to all pro, which means its the 2nd hardest level, and still raped TN 49-21. Its sad when u can go undefeated vs the computer on the 2nd hardest level. GDI ESPN FIX UR GD GAMEPLAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't nitpick about things that are the same as Madden. Madden is easily beaten every game in the higher levels if you know how to pass to ball. Which you must not be able to do.

I love the guy who says "I agree with jditty completey"(It's too easy) "but I can't figure out how to do the preseason prep".

I played with my preseason, and franchise season prep work for a while and I can consistantly improve my players because I coach them similarly to the way Marvin Lewis or any other good coach in the league does. If you don't like this, TURN IT OFF, you don't have to use it, and it is intended for advanced players who know the NFL, not for kids who don't.

I can consistantly beat the tar out of the computer in Madden, even at the hardest levels. I can recover 99% of my onside kicks, and thus shut out any team in the league by playing keep away and never allowing them to go on offense.

At the highest level of ESPN 2K5, I can't pull this off. In fact, at the EASIEST level of 2K5 it is hard to recover an onside kick, because they *gasp* actually penalize you for not kicking it far enough before you recover it.

This game kicks butt. Enjoy blowing out the teams for a season or two to learn it, then take it to the toughest level and play. It's far more realistic.

I think Madden is better, but out of curiousity would you care to elaborate on your stance that ESPN is superior B24?

When I play Madden I know I'm going to win the game. The only questions are how much am I going to win by and which one of my receivers is going to get the 250 yards and which is going to get the 150 yards this week.

ESPN isn't like that if you play on the right level.

There are many other reasons, but this isn't going to change anyones opinion.

they penalize you for not kicking it 10 yards in madden too

and who cares about playing the computer anyways?

i play madden to play online and madden's gameplay is so much better than espn, not to mention espn's online format SUCKS BIG DONKEY BALLS compared to madden's and also espn gets choppy during online play and madden doesn't.

Well ...............I fell for the marketing tactics for the ESPN 2K5. Got it last Tuesday. It's the first time I've played ESPN football because usually I buy Madden, except for a couple of years when I got Gameday.

I think 2K5 is a damn good game. Ill say it's even better than Madden 2004. It's definitely more realistic.............and I've always been down with playing the best football game.

But the reason why I play sports games, (specifically madden) is for fun competition against humans. There is nothing better than playing against live competition, especially when both play str8, nfl style, no glitching or trying to use the flaws of the game in order to gain advantage over your opponent.

So ever since online play came out, all I do is play online therefore franchise mode is worthless to me. Which brings me to my only beef with 2K5.

ESPN 2K5 online community is wack. I think the most I have ever seen is like 8 heads in all the rooms combined and the people that are on there don't even play.

Even though I have 2K5, after awhile playing the CPU gets boring. So until more people get online for 2K5..................I'm rollin with Madden baby!

It's funner for me.

i was just giving my opinion and i still think the gameplay in madden is far superior. I dont think any of the flaws in espn last years version were corrected in this years version. I dunno, i guess im just used to how madden plays and i like how madden plays much better.

Dont get me wrong, espn has its advantages over madden...but the weekly crap is retarded, its so basic and all i have to do is leave all my workouts the same and weekly my players improve. I have no idea how the rehab thing works cuz it never changes any of my players injuries, even if they are just probable or questionable.

The halftime show and postgame show and sportscenter are the best aspects of the game...its sad when im blowing the computer out on allpro and its only my 5th game ever playing it and im more excited to see the halftime show than to play the first half.
