membengal
So...it is a national game on Fox Friday night. Except, it won't be a sell-out so no TV locally, meaning only us out-of-market fans will be seeing it as it unfolds. But, as I understand it, it gets worse for you in the Cincy market who can't or don't go to the game. Because it is a Fox game, there is no need for a local telecast, which means there will be NO tape delay of the game.Meaning, unless you go to the game, or hump up to Columbus or down to L'ville, you can't see the game at any point if you are in the blackout radius for PBS.Or unless you do one of those streaming dealies. ArmyBengal
Yeah, NFL Network is good for a replay. Only problem is they sometimes dont show them until freakin' 2 in the morning.Thank God for DVR's !!!

I would think it'd be shown on tape delay somewhere here
membengal
Nope, that's what I am telling you, there will be NO tape delay this time because it is a national broadcast and there is no local TV broadcast of it. Fox won't "re-broadcast it" on tape delay (or the stations there won't pay for it). If you are "in-market", there will be NO television available to you, even on tape delay basis. And, no, it won't be re-run on NFL Network either, because, once again, it is a Fox telecast and they retain the rights to it. I'm sure they "retain the rights" to those as well. I am thinking you are wrong.

membengal
Good question, hokie. I have not run across re-broadcasts on NFL Network of espn/nbc games this pre-season. For instance, the Bengals/Dallas game was NOT re-broadcast.I think they can say that because they pick up any games not otherwise being shown nationally.I stand by my understanding. membengal
Hokie, I stand corrected. I just went and double-checked, and the Eagles/Bengals will re-broadcast on NFL Network Saturday at 4:00. So there will at least be that option for locals with access to NFL Network. You have to search for it though. Sometimes the rebroadcasts are on at 2am.

membengal
The details from John Kiesewetter in the Cincy Enquirer:/>http://cincinnati.com/blogs/tv/2010/08/19/bengals-black-out-plans-for-fox-19-fox-45/The only way you’re going to see Fox’s coverage of Friday’s Bengals-Eagles game from Paul Brown Stadium will be on the NFL Network on tape at 4 p.m. Saturday…. which means that Time Warner Land customers will never see it, but Insight and satellite customers will. Fox affiliates WXIX-TV and Dayton’s WRGT-TV can’t air the game because it didn’t sell out, and they don’t have rights to tape-delay it for replay overnight. Our Sunday TV Week magazine listed the Bengals game for both stations…. but here’s what you’ll see on them instead tomorrow:WXIX-TV Channel 19:7 – Family Guy7:30 — The Simpsons8-9 –”Fox 19 Fall Football Preview” special: Local football special covering Bengals, local college teams and high school teams. Hosted by Brian Giesenschlag9-10 – ”Breaking the Unbreakable: The 25th Anniversary of 4192″: Special from Covington’s Barking Fish Entertainment, makers of the new Pete Rose “4192: The Crowning of the Hit King” documentary. The show will discuss and promote the movie, show clips and have a roundtable discussion concerning the breaking of the hit record by Pete Rose. It is not a shortened version of the movie.10– 10 O’clock News, with Final Quarter at 10:45.
HairOnFire
I wasn't going to start a thread about it but since we're discussing television programing....what's going on with ManWhore? And no, I don't care which skank Chad handed a rose to at the end, but rather....has it actually ended yet?
ShulaSteakhouse
Since it is a national game, I sure hope there is a streaming broadcast available somewhere that's decent out of Philly or something - I'm not paying to go to a preseason game.
