Could NfL have more pictures of Lord Favre on the main page?

After arriving Favre immediately reported to the training room where three staff members spent an hour massaging his ego. Then it was off to a whirlpool tub filled with ice in the hopes that a 30-minute soak might reduce his head swelling. Finally it was off to see the team doctor, who after an extensive examination declared...."He's old for a player of his age."

He's throwing with high school kids

He's going to the doctor

He's taking a sh*t

He's scratching his balls

And so it begins...again.

Almost time to fire up Favre Watch 2011? On one hand, says NFL.com’s Gil Brandt, yes. Then again, Brandt says, NFL teams might not be all that interested.

When asked about a possible return of Brett Favre to Minnesota during his live chat Tuesday, Brandt indicated that he believes the NFL’s all-time leader in passing yards and touchdowns is indeed getting back that itch. The only catch is that, while the Vikings put on the full-court press to have Favre return last summer, Brandt doesn’t see Minnesota or any other team sending its private jet down to Hattiesburg, Miss., this summer.

“I do think Favre would be interested in talking to a team about returning,” Brandt said. “But I don’t see a team out there right now that would bring him back as a starter.”

The second I heard about Campbell, I wondered, how long until the Favre-to-Oakland speculation begins?

Not long.

As the Raiders try to conjure a plan at quarterback given the broken collarbone suffered Sunday by quarterback Jason Campbell, various names have emerged.

One fairly big name hasn’t. But maybe it should.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Raiders are not considering Brett Favre, and the possibility of signing him hasn’t been discussed.

Of course, this doesn’t mean his name won’t come up.

Yes, Favre is retired. But, yes, it has been widely suspected that he’d be tempted to consider a Roger Clemens-style partial season, under the right circumstances.

In Oakland, the circumstances are far from ideal. There’s no West Coast offense or Mike Holmgren or Darrell Bevell or even a Brad Childress on the coaching staff. And the Raiders aren’t a short-list elite team that seems destined to play deep into January.

But other factors could intrigue Favre. The team has a great running game and an adequate defense. A young receiver like Darrius Heyward-Bey perhaps could blossom with Favre like Sidney Rice did in Minnesota.
