jjakq27
Really perplexed why there is no offical list from the team although Hobson has blogged a couple of names./>http://blogs.bengals.com/2010/09/04/simpson-cosby-look-to-be-in/

cincyhokie
It is my uninformed opinion that any of you that think Coates is staying over Coffman are beyond high. Perhaps you could make an argument that Coates stays over Kelly, but I don't see it.Frankly, any talk of Coates being on this club from any of you is some Bengals equivalent of the Stockholm Syndrome.I'm higher than Cheech right now, apparently. Can't say I'm happy about being right concerning Coffman but at least this team is cutting bait on players they don't see fitting into their scheme. Why they drafted him in the first place is another question.
HoosierCat
I'm so flippin mad...Coats over Coffman...seriously ><It was the right move.Get this through your head: the Bengal are a running team and Coats is our best blocking TE. cincyhokie
one thing im glad of was they kept peerman for now anywayAnd if Peerman keeps playing like he has he may just stick around for good.Leonard is solid but has a pattern of getting hurt every season for some duration. bwillycuse
This puts a ton of pressure on Kelly. At this point we have 2 TEs and one is a rookie and one tore his achilles last year. Why do we keep 3 qbs again? Can someone explain that to me. I mean if Carson gets hurt, we lose..bottom line. Neither of our backups are capable so why have 3? Why have 2 players that are dead weight at that position. Is Jordan in development to be starter? Now I feel we are thin at FB, TE, and Safety, questionable at kicker, and lacking at backup QB. I dont know what Coats does at practice, but Ive seen many game mistakes. Lets pray he doesn't make them again, and make them at home. HoosierCat
This puts a ton of pressure on Kelly. For the record, I would have cut Kelly. I am convinced the only reason he made the squad is that he has Carson in his corner & the organization does all it can to keep Carson happy. I have confidence that Zimmer can get some use out of him. Good move if it happens.

Get him back to safety and we may have a steal.

I am convinced the only reason he made the squad is that he has Carson in his corner & the organization does all it can to keep Carson happy.Disagree. Keeping Coffman over Kelly would have pissed me off. One of the reasons this team broke out last year was the emergence of team leaders. This took the pressure off the coaching staff. Kelly has been a key piece of this teams success. Coffman hasn't.And Kelly can block very well. And we are a running team.
Stripes
And Kelly can block very well. And we are a running team. That's always been his thing, but he didn't do much blocking in the preseason. I'm glad he's still here though. kingwilly
If they really get Reggie Nelson I would be very pleased. Edit: just saw it was done...this is a smart and bold move. Maybe the best move of the season, and might just make up for the blunder that was Bryant.I hope cutting Coffman does not come back to bite them, as in, if/when Gresham or Kelly gets hurt....I would like to see them get Pat White. x10 better than JTOS.Also, the Jets will be cutting at least one very good FB.... if they decide they need one, there is one place to shop. All I see him as is a locker room guy and a coach on the sideline. He doesnt need a roster spot to do that.So it seems that if Kelly or Coats is in the game its a run play. Gresham in its a pass.I still disagree that we are a running team. We don't have a fullback. And we drafted a pass catching TE in the first round this year, paid 10 million to 2 free agent WRs and drafter another WR in the 3rd.We were a running team last year out of necessity.
