You have to figure Dunlap(pick #54) will get in on time, being that the #'s 55-62 have all signed, and the player selected directly ahead of him (#53 Jermaine Cunningham) has also signed.

Looks like Gresham will miss the first few days of Camp (that's just being realistic)...But that's more of a result of nobody (except Cowboys) having signed their 1st Rd pick yet. I don't expect Gresham to miss too much time.

I'm happy Shipley got done, because he's going to be one of the ones helping this passing offense this season.

Get Gresham in as soon as possible and get this going.

Dunlap and Muckelroy will be nice to get done, but I'm less concerned about them.

They will get done...

From PFT...

The amount of unsigned players drafted outside the top two rounds is approaching single digits.

The Bengals knocked out two agreements on Tuesday with former Texas Longhorns: wideout Jordan Shipley and linebacker Roderick Muckelroy.

Aaron Wilson of NFP first reported the Shipley deal, which should include a $757,000 signing bonus. Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer first mentioned Muckeleroy coming aboard. Adam Caplan of FOXSports.com reports Muckelroy will make just over $2.21 million in four years with a signing bonus around $425,000.

Muckelroy adds depth at a strong position for Cincinnati. He won't play much this year most likely barring injuries in front of him.

Shipley's role could depend on whether the Bengals sign Terrell Owens. The rookie slot receiver impressed onlookers this offseason, but he may be stuck battling Andre Caldwell for scraps.

That about sums it up unless you want to add up all of the wasted draft picks churned and burned on the scrap heap.

As bad as the Bengals history is regarding draft pick signings, they pretty much always get their picks signed by the time training camp arrives with the exception of 1st rounders. Thus there's really no suspense with any of these guys except for Gresham.

Gresham's situation is what it is, but he's one of the guys the offense is really hoping for big things from.

The sooner they get him in camp, the better. I'm not worried at this point in time though and expect there to be some delay with most of the 1st rounders.

SWEET !!!

Carlos Dunlap signs aboard in Cincinnati

Congratulations to second round pick Carlos Dunlap, the subject of the shortest rookie signing announcement in NFL history.

"Dunlap signing," the Bengals official website reports.

Dunlap fits right in with other recent boom-or-bust Bengals draft picks. Once thought of as a potential top-20 pick, the Florida product slipped to No. 54 because of legitimate questions about his maturity, work ethic, and consistency.

Remarkably talented, Ourlads Scouting services described Dunlap this way: "If the game was played in shorts and t-shirts he would relish that."

Dunlap will try to climb the depth chart at a deep position for the Bengals, so they don't need him to play much initially.

I didn't realize that being drafted meant a 6 figure signing bonus
